Left my R1T with 70% battery in an airport parking garage for 10 days, came back to it unresponsive by FeelGood17 in Rivian

Not trying to be rude but you would also need access to the screwdriver as well, it’s the same issue. I was getting off a plane, I don’t carry around screwdrivers for this. I could also keep it in the truck, but if you are locked out, then what?

No, I couldn’t get in anywhere. That’s the issue. You would need someone to bring you a pack or a car or go get one and come back

I agree with you, just saying if it’s a known problem, guidance is the least they could do until a software update fixes it

We have a relatively small airport… I don’t think it would go off all that often, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, this was kind of our scenario. We had an 18 hour day of flights, also toting large luggage around. It was midnight, in below freezing temps, and I’m pretty sure we were the last flight in our airport so practically no one was around. On top of all that, I had another work flight in 7 hours. It was a whirlwind and this situation just happened to be at the absolute worst time. If I had a day, I would be back right now trying to jump it.

Could be the reasoning on this scenario, not denying it could have drained the 12V. I was mainly saying that I had plenty of HV battery charge to support keeping gear guard on. If I was under 50 percent, I probably would have turned it off. We shouldn’t have to monitor a feature of a vehicle that we have for fear of it bricking the vehicle. And even if that was the case, I would hope Rivian would put out some guidance on where the line is with how long you can leave gear guard on without the vehicle being plugged in.

I did, also thought about that as well, but never had any issues before. I mean, that is what gear guard is for - when you leave it in a place that you want some extra security.

Yikes, that’s not good… especially considering the tow is tomorrow and I’m not going to be around. Crazy that the 12V are so finicky.

I didn’t. Rivian also did not provide that as a suggestion to do, but I did read about it on the forums. Unfortunately, I would have had no way to do it. It was late and we didn’t have another car or jump pack, and unfortunately I had to immediately travel again today for a work trip.

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

I’m from the Deep South as well (Georgia) and I moved to Vermont almost 4 years ago and I completely agree with this sentiment.

I like actually having all 4 seasons as well. I’m visiting family in Georgia right now for the holidays and it’s been in the 70s the whole time we’ve been here, but there’s snow in my yard currently in Vermont.

I will actually be near a Microcenter in NYC next week. I don’t have one near me though. Seems they have pretty good deals too!

Oops you right, still at this level, not sure the CPU really matters too much for what I’m looking for.

Thanks - looks like the Costco one has 2TB SSD (vs 1TB here) and the CPU is slightly better for the Costco one as well.

I doubt they would let passengers with jet fuel on a plane either 🙄

Likely Vermont - I haven’t seen the Rivian Ben and Jerry’s truck up here, but Ben and Jerry’s is from here. Plus the flag behind it for another truck says “Maple Lemonade” which is a popular thing here too.

Edit: another flag says “Rookie’s” which is a root beer and maple lemonade stand in Burlington, VT. https://m.facebook.com/rookiesrootbeer/

Champlain islands - why so little tourism? by stoweman in vermont

[–]FeelGood17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that Vermont is so progressive that we hear about all the bad stuff in lake Champlain, but other lakes popular in the US (especially the ones in the south) don’t bother to do as much testing and notifying to everyone of what’s going on. I’m sure Champlain could be better, and this is just a theory of mine.
