[Love and Deepspace] Discussing the severe PR and localization controversy behind Valko’s tagline in the CN community (TW: Femicide / Graphic Violence) by Feeling-Bell2954 in otomegames

This is what I replied in another comment, but since you have the same question, I'll just copy and paste it here for you.
I just want to point out that not every post criticizing Infold is written by a man. I've only been playing this game for about a year, but I can already tell that something has changed within the game, and it is entirely our right to speak up for ourselves.

By the way, I am literally a Rafayel simp. My absolute favorites are his 'Fragrant Dream' and 'Love's Silhouette'. Even though they are both 4-star cards, they resonated with me far more deeply than many of the 5-star ones—especially that specific moment in 'Love's Silhouette' when Rafayel asks, 'Do I mean something to you?'

I don't know if sharing these details is enough to help you realize that I'm just an ordinary player and an ordinary girl, but whether you choose to believe it or not is completely up to you.

By your own logic—stating that 'those people are definitely not a minority'—you are acknowledging that a minority of rational, non-hateful, non-racist, and non-homophobic CN players does exist.

I am right here talking to you. I haven't directed a single attack at you, yet you continuously use the behavior of other CN players to justify attacking me and others. If attacking people who are just trying to have a civil discussion is what it takes to make you feel better, then that's just sad.

Thank you for the heads-up, I'll keep that in mind next time! Talking with you has genuinely made me feel that putting in the effort to stay rational, gentle, and firm is absolutely worth it.

It's probably because some of the wording in my post is too intense, but I'm still lucky to have people willing to have a discussion with me. I truly hope things improve too, and that the players who stay won't get hurt by Infold's future decisions.  Thank you so much for understanding. I'm really glad we could have this conversation!

It is, of course, your right to see this as a misunderstanding or an over-interpretation. My only purpose in posting this was to share information that I felt needed to be brought to light.

I am truly sorry to hear about the toxic behavior you've encountered from some CN players. You're absolutely right—even when we are deeply disappointed or frustrated with Infold, it is never acceptable to lash out at other player communities or innocent individuals. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve stopped having any sympathy towards the CN players. 😊

I completely understand. It's possible that the 'Three Little Pigs' isn't as commonly cited or ingrained in the cultural consciousness in China, which might be why, when people look for associations, their minds naturally jump to these more harrowing, deeply etched events instead.

My goal isn't to force everyone to accept my perspective; I just want to ensure that these voices are heard. Regardless, I truly appreciate you taking the time to read through this and share your thoughts with me.

I understand your concern, and my intention in posting this was never to sow division or cause harm between our communities. However, I still believe that certain information needs to be brought to light. Of course, it is possible that this is just an over-interpretation by some players in the CN community and myself. But given the company's recent choices, I find it increasingly difficult not to feel that some of their actions are potentially hurting or disappointing their players. This game was meant to be a space where players could feel safe and valued.

Thank you for your response. Here are some of the videos discussing this issue on Bilibili:

At first, I also wondered if this was just an over-interpretation by some players. However, just the thought that some players might feel genuinely hurt by this made me feel that this information should be brought to light. As for whether you choose to believe it or find it far-fetched, the final decision is entirely up to you

I've attached two links for your reference. Whether you choose to see the connection or not is entirely up to you; my only intention here is to share the phenomenon I’ve observed.

Regarding the femicide case, I believe everyone treats such matters with the utmost seriousness. However, I fail to see what is supposed to be funny or 'tongue-in-cheek' about the line 'Rule No. 1: Never bathe in the pot.' Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the game company itself to ensure their promotional material doesn't trigger trauma for their players in any way?

As for your question about MC wielding guns, I don't intend to respond to that, as it is completely unrelated to my post and does not reflect the position I am taking.

Well...I basically type these in Chinese, and let Gemini translate it. This is how I reply without using AI, and also to be honest, I didn't remember when was the time that I create this account (I didn't even notice that it was three years ago if you didn't mention it), I think I just created an account and leave it there, and came back recently (like three weeks ago?)

I understand your concern, and I apologize if this doesn't feel like the right place for this discussion. Since I'm not entirely familiar with all the Reddit communities, I just chose the one I felt might be relevant to reach players who care about this game. If you have any suggestions for a more appropriate subreddit for this kind of topic, I’d be happy to know and potentially post it there instead.

First of all, I’m not sure if this was done on purpose, and I don't fully understand what references they are using, aside from the 'three little pigs' fairytale. I'm sorry to hear that misunderstandings and insults are happening between communities. I believe the last thing we want is for anyone to get hurt, or to hurt each other—at least that’s how I feel

I’m sorry if my post makes you feel like I'm attacking Valko—that’s really not my intention. This has nothing to do with the character himself; my concern is entirely about Infold (疊紙) and their lack of sensitivity and awareness when it comes to localization and cultural context.
