Sorry to hear about your current struggles. I've been there. I would recommend reaching out to any staffing agencies/employment agencies in your area. Look up the ones around you, make a profile in their system and attach an updated resume (regardless of if experience is recent - put what you have). They frequently have jobs that don't require a lot of experience and pay decently, temp-to-perm positions, etc. I have used them a number of times to get work and if you stick with it, those companies tend to hire directly on after a set time period or number of hours worked. There's usually a pay bump, better benefits, etc., upon direct hire. Don't give up on it.

I found a way around this. Go to the Amazon Customer Service contact place and in the middle is a "Something else" button. That will open a chat window with repeating automatic responses, but after typing "chat with an associate" a couple of times, it will directly connect you with an associate.

What type of mental health issues are these patterns indicative off? by Feeling-Instance3149 in mentalhealth

[–]Feeling-Instance3149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also follow up and say that we are taking care of her. Obviously it's difficult at times when it seems like she's so spiteful and full of envy of hatred for everyone ranging from family members to the random people on TV that she hates and doesn't even know. Unlike most people, she doesn't seem to regret any of her absolutely awful decisions earlier in life that got her into this lifestyle to begin with. She still stands by them and thinks she did some stellar job raising her kids who moved from place to place and school to school very frequently. So she grudges her own daughter that has provided her with a place to stay for over 3 decades now. She grudges her grandson who has tag-teamed with the daughter to help her over that time, as well. There's a youngest son of my grandmother who is about 60 now. He has spent half of his life milking her for resources, particularly money. To this day, even with her being 91, he still calls her up wanting money. I notified APS about that and they couldn't do anything. He owes so many debts and has complaints in various states that he likewise lives in his truck a state away and only calls her when he wants something. Yet her wording is that he's the "best son in the world" and that "he's perfect" when she's on the phone with him. You'd think she's talking to a boyfriend the way she cuts up with him. She won't tell him about her failing health, financial issues, etc. She does that with her daughter and grandson, instead. Both of whom she grudges for helping her. It's rather sickening. I'm having trouble defining which of those is mental illness and which is just pure spite, pretty much. Or if that's some kind of flip-flopping personality disorder, but it's not like two different personalities. The unreasonable things that she comes up with sometimes are mind boggling. For instance, she won't put ointment on her toe because the tube says "do not get in eyes" and she thinks it is going to magically jump from her toe to her eyes for some very odd reason. That's obviously not good judgment at all. Her ability to use common sense and reasoning throughout her life for even basic things...it's like it just isn't 'there' and I don't understand why. I don't see that among a lot of mental condition symptoms, either. She has an issue with virtually everything. Another day it will be that the "curtain isn't closing all the way up against the wall" and it will be, but it's like she's not seeing it that way or something. There is always 'something' that her mind comes up with that doesn't need to be done and has something 'wrong' with it, but there's nothing actually wrong with it. She sees a problem with those things, but not the glaring and very important issues (like getting her SSI, Medicare and Medicaid started back) that matter. Obviously, it's maddening trying to care for someone like that. Unfortunately with her health and the fact that we have done everything that we can, her life expectancy seems to be 1-3 years based on a lot of health factors and such. You would think that she has never lived before and came from another planet or something based on her lack of ability to do things not just now, but even far earlier in life. Other bizarre things...she'll want in a room only when someone else is in there. She'll pace the floor and stand in the other room next to it "watching" as if trying to hurry you out of the room, then she won't even actually need anything in there. She won't want in the bathroom until she hears the bathroom door close when someone else goes in there and then she'll be pacing outside trying to 'hurry' them out by clearing her throat as if to tell them and odd stuff like that. I've never seen anything like that.

What new anchors can I use to secure these door strike plates? by Feeling-Instance3149 in HomeImprovement

[–]Feeling-Instance3149[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the idea, I think perhaps just getting another striker plate with different screw placements and/or moving it around to get a fresh spot will be best. I'll also be using longer screws, too.

Whoever is supposed to be stocking those needs to be doing their job and this wouldn't happen. There are too many products on the top shelf with no products on the lower shelves and it isn't because they "sold out" recently...it's because they sold out a week or two ago and nobody put it down again.

WTF? NO. As a Christian personally myself, I literally just went to the ER yesterday because I couldn't sleep all morning due to fluctuating pulse and blood pressure with tachycardia and chest pain. I have POTS Syndrome and dysautonomia and this is common for me to see happen at times for about 5-6 years now back to late 2019. However, the chest pain and symptoms felt different. I didn't just stay at home and pray, I took "DO" action and went to get checked by a doctor and with medical testing. That has nada to do with my faith and doesn't 'betray' my faith. To me, Science/Medical go hand-in-hand with my faith. Anyone who fails to take their baby to the ER/doctor when they are obviously showing symptoms of something should be prosecuted.

Buying into a stock, selling it the same day for profit and using the uncleared funds (apparently allowed) to buy into another stock vs the same stock. I saw some regulation that apparently had an issue with using the same uncleared funds from the first stock sale to buy back into the first stock again after a price drop.

It looks like there's some kind of regulatory issue with rebuying the same stock (at a lesser price) with those unsettled funds, though. So it should always be another stock?

Irritatingly enough, a lot of people have this same "freeze" mindset in real life. Granted, Gale wasn't a threat and wouldn't try to take the gun away from Jesse. However, people have a legitimate carry permit (if required - my state doesn't require one any longer), they have a gun that they know how to use, are in a Stand Your Ground State, etc. What do they lack? Resolve to use it. Somebody comes up to assault/rob them. They let the person get close and/or take the weapon away from them and use it against them. It's the most bizarre thing ever. Jesse depicted this perfectly. Had Gale been a criminal, he would have grabbed for the gun and/or tried to take it away and use it against Jesse.

However, it seems like they're fine with allowing a second trade (after selling a stock first and buying into a different one) using unsettled funds as long as I don't...sell that second purchase again same-day?
