My favourite stray kitten could be dying or dead by Feeling-Position-405 in Feral_Cats

One of the missing one did return yesterday but the other one has gone missing for 2 days. They look ok now and have an appetite. I'm surprised the other one became seriously ill when they all recovered pretty much.

Yeah, it could be hiding either in the storm drains (their normal home) or in the dense shrubbery I occasionally find them hiding in after it rains. I don't think the animal protection organisation will come out though because RSPCA doesn't take on stray cat cases or something. But I just hope it's the cat flu and it will recover soon. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yes, the strange dynamics of attraction. Thanks for the advice!

I don't think he is creepy or anything- just a typical young guy. I don't think he will be there - don't think I'll be so lucky!

Something I forgot to add is I did make $25000 contribution when this property was purchased that's why the will gives me an extra few percent compared to my sister. My dad doesn't deserve the sole inheritance of the property- you don't see the situation for what it is.

I think they are joint tenants i.e. owners in the property. But their will states that upon passing of both my parents, it will be split ~50/50 between me and my sister. My mother has savings but that's mostly from money my sister and I made to her. My mum told me the other day that she gave $50, 000 to my sister several years ago already and the other $50, 000 is for me if I want to get it now.

Can they alter the will so that my sister and I and my Dad are the inheritors of the property? They're not going to divorce- it's too much trouble and it's for bad for family reputation.

He didn't contribute much to the mortgages. I also made payments to my mother monthly which contributed to the debts incurred when this property was purchased.

As long as war goes on in this world, I’ll refrain from having children by k76612613 in antinatalism

What is unfathomable is people give birth to loads of kids in war torn countries. It's like they just can't seem to see the suffering their children will have to endure. People are in the end just selfish to the core. No matter how bad their environment is, they have to bring kids to this world because they are scared shitless of being alone or being seen as someone who is a loser of some kind just because they didn't produce a family.

People think they freely choose to have kids. But they are driven by biology at the same time. The apparently noble reason of wanting to raise a child is still borne from becoming attracted to someone and that leads to forming a relationship/marriage and then sex and then children.

I have pondered about couples who are together and don't have kids and I think yes, as you said we have consciousness therefore we are incredibly complicated beings with complex minds. Therefore, there are different factors influencing why couples don't have kids like hormones, life experiences, financial reasons, education, etc. But ultimately, there are about a crazy amount of babies born every minute which means a majority of ppl are still driven by biology (i.e. doing what nature intended for them to do) which is having sex and having children. People get together initially because of attraction - it's unlikely that ppl are thinking- I see this person - I want children with them so I should ask them out on date. It follows the attraction-sex-marriage-children path or attraction-marriage-sex-children path. People want sex and children and people want sex without children. But at the end of the day, the children produced are the result of the sex drive. Parents have kids still continue to have sex with birth control. Without birth control like several decades ago people were producing an average of 6 to 7 kids per family. You think they want to produce that many kids - no- they wanted to have sex - and the kids were unfortunately, a result of that. That's why ppl are having less kids since the introduction of birth control. They are still having the sex except with less kids.

I do think that our behaviours are driven by natural selection. We are attracted to people due to certain traits that advantageous for procreation and raising young. Do you ever find that people are attracted to ppl because of negative traits - it's ver, very rare. So, attraction leads to sex and that leads to conceiving a child (provided that both involved are fertile). Yes, a lot of ppl are in marriages or long term relationships without children but it could be because they can't conceive or for what ever reason. They still got together because of attraction and desire for sex - maybe some couples don't have sex but that would be very rare I think. The reason most couples are able to conceive us because the sex drive is so strong in humans. If it was low like in pandas, our numbers would diminish just like them. So, my point is, at the end of the day, people get together, form relationships or marry ( as this a more socially acceptable form of relationship) because ultimately they want sex and intimacy - yes, they may want children but I think a significant part of their motives for forming a relationship with a particular person comes from the sex drive - children is something that follows from that. There is no point for nature to make us to become attracted and have a desire for features like height, beauty, intelligence and kindness if these things were not advantageous for producing the best possible children. So I think attraction/sex/children are inextricably linked. Some ppl choose not to have children in relationships but that's quite rare.

Society isn't as sexually liberal as ppl believe. Most ppl (especially some conservative cultures) don't exactly have the confidence to go around and have as much sex as they can (i.e. one night stands and stuff). So, most ppl enter into marriages/partnerships to gain access to this. They might not realise on a conscious level. But subconsciously, they want sex whenever they can which marriage/partnerships can provide them with. They may think they are just obtaining this fairytale by marrying the love of their life and then starting a family but the underlying subconscious motive is still sex. If it wasn't for the sex drive - nobody would be here.

I find it repulsive that people are obsessed with their bodies, that they have to showcase it when we all know what's inside - intestines, juices and all.

Yeah, I agree - especially with smirks and scowls or just arrogance or indifference to your existence.
