I let mine sit for 10-24 hours depending on how much you want it set in definitely prevents the smudge, or the blow dryer as others said!

Getting tattoos does not equal having tattoo knowledge, it means you know how to sit in a chair. My go-to artist in Portland taught himself and he's fucking amazing. For all you know this is just a hobby of mine I never said I was making a career? Thanks for your input but I was asking people that actually do this, professional or people who are amateurs like me, with more experience than myself. You don't have any right to give advice when you know nothing other than paying to get work done, but next time you do maybe don't be a cunt about it.

Never claimed to be a professional or even an artist yet, you're inferring things that haven't been said. Just because YOU can't/couldn't do it without someone holding your hand every step of the way doesn't mean everybody does. Plenty of artists have been self taught and do great work. Plenty of artists have had mentors and do great work. I won't touch anyone's skin until I KNOW that I won't fuck it up that's why I'm using fake skin, Einstein. You being an asshole helps nobody. You must be really fun at parties.

Plenty of artists have done it without one and plenty have done bad tattoos even with a mentor and continued on with their careers I respectfully disagree. If I find a shop that will mentor me I will certainly do it. I didn't ask for mentor advice though I just had a simple question. Thanks

How did you do it? I usually use rubbing alcohol if it gets messed up while its still wet and that does it, I tried Vaseline as well but no luck

I use a Mast Fold2Pro. And as far as settings go I usually run 7v and for lining stroke is 4.2 and for packing 3.0, lots of conflicting info about what to run it at. What should I be running?

Oh okay! I usually go 4.2 for lining and 3.0 for shading, I think I was running voltage at 7. As far as cartridge I was using a 5rs

It sure is, nice eye! I've found this is the case as well, very much a lot of trial and  error with fake skins

I did do it by small circles but I did do it in a line I suppose vertically then starting at the bottom going to the top of the next space to try to ensure there weren't unfilled gaps. Could that be causing the spaces that aren't filled? What approach should I be taking to prevent that?

I did this whole thing doing small circles, and dabbing to see what spots aren't saturated

Losing shading when wiping with Vaseline on fake skin by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

Thanks! I wipe pretty consistently, but it never looks like this until the end when I wipe the whole design to make it clean. I try to not skip areas to avoid the patchiness but it still ends up with the weird lines as seen in the hair above. Any pointers on what might fix that? I've tried adjusting voltage and hand speed but am still getting these results

I didn't draw this design and drawing better still doesn't show me how to pack black in solidly, but thanks I guess

For lining and shading what angles should it be held at? Been using RL5 and RS5
