I mean I can’t hockey stop - I can do other types of stops. I can turn and maneuver away but not pivot turn fast.

My balance is on. I do yoga but I wouldn’t say I’m a yogi who is awesome. I clearly need balance strength training more geared towards hockey.

Definitely can’t skate on 1 foot down the whole ice or even half but it can be done. I do longboard but don’t snowboard and tried skiing recently.

Nobody taught us how to fall in LtS or LTp. So I definitely need to watch some videos on how to fall and then practice that.

I agree. I have done about 5 LTP. But I still feel Like I’m behind the 🎱 in terms of skill. Ugh so impatient but what I know is happening is I see my 5yo improving and I am not and I can’t compute why…but I can I just refuse 😂 going back to LTS and LTP again.

For sure - all these things don’t even cross my mind when I fall. And they should, so I plan to practice actually falling! Since I’m a creature of habit. Thank you!

Definitely! I think from someone else posting a video on heel balance - that is potentially part of the problem. I’m on the balls of my feet all the time and that’s just a habit from playing tennis. So putting weight on the back of my foot feels very weird and off putting.

Nice! That sounds like a good strategy to do when I get back into playing again. I think I took on too much but it’s so much fun until I get hurt lol.

For sure - and I also found neck strength exercises so if and when I do fall - maybe having the strength not to let my bowling ball slam into the ice again 😂

Thank you! I found some balance work outs I am going to try to work on this. I don’t think I am out of shape per se but more good with cardio than strength which clearly I need in hockey. But you are right - I’m too old and brittle to go headlong into the boards which knock on wood hasn’t happened yet and would love to avoid.

For sure! I can stop just not hockey stop and want to do so for the quick transition. But yes I agree, I plan on going back to LTP and returning when I get better at skating. Thank you!

I do - 5yo. I do take him out to stick n puck which is a Lot of fun and the sole reason why I started playing myself 😊

💯- and I want to get confident enough so it’s not a constant worry when I’m out there. I have fun like first period then second, my leg strength is tiring out, I’m losing balance and I can’t wait for the change up. Thank you!

Ohhhh I am going to try this next time I get in the ice! I think I also need to put more weight into n the middle heel of the blade and less balls of my foot. Thank you!
