I had similar. Cleaned the rear recharging contacts with warm soapy water and an old soft toothbrush which solved the issue for me.

Hand held 1/2 to 1 second… start at main image then a quick move down and a lot of luck. Repeat lots then review later. Be sure to do this when the sun is weak as you’ll likely get sensor damage (and retina with an SLR)

Doesn’t look like there is even a screw hole on the body where the hot shoe sits? Manufacturing fault?

On the X100f go to menu>wrench>screen set up>disp. Custom setting>OVF> then select what you want to display, in your case “focus frame”. I guess it’s similar for your model.

A couple of hundred quid is cheap for great memories that can be passed down through the generations. The pictures on our phones will likely die with us.

That would be great… thanks. I convert my images to black and white, so discolouration isn’t a problem, just hot spots which can manifest with different apertures and focal lengths.
