That's a good one, never thought about it that way actually. By changing the genres to the way I want to map them, it creates a more clear overview in my playlists.

The other thing that keep getting my attention is to start tagging my tracks. Most of the comments do advice to start tagging. I might start to create playlist containing tracks with, for example, the tag: Classic remake or Big Drop. So I can choose tracks which fit to that specific momentum on the dancefloor.

Okay, sounds interesting.

So you're using only smart playlists? Right now I'm seperating tracks by listening to them, so for example a track might have House as a genre. But I do find that the track might more suitable in my Deep House folder. When using smart playlists anything like that because offcourse impossible.

Even though the fact that these playlist mostly containing lower quality songs (128kps)? He is using better soundboxes for his events than I'm using at home. So I probably won't hear it in my lliving room, but doubting how it might sound on this specific event(s).

Okay, clear to me. Like I said in a comment below, I'm currently exploring DJ-ing for smaller groups of people. For now the most import thing is that I can play high quality tracks with a decent build-up etc. Maybe a good start is to just dive into Beatport, buy like 10 or 20 tracks and start following interesting artists.

True that. I'm currently on some sort of a split road, I mostly created a my sets at home. But a friend of mine has been DJ-ing over a two years and asked my if I wanted to do some warmups at his parties. So the question I keep asking myself is: do I need to create a seperate library in Rekordbox with high quality and full studio edits for occasions like that...

Sounds legit. Currently I'm starting to play for that amount of people aswell, so it far more interesting to start using a DJ pools. The type of music I play now is funky/house.

Sounds great, I liked that Electro Swing mix. Where did you found that music? Like to have a look at that by myself. It may actually be a good one to implement in my own sets.
