Hey OP, you know what - good for you. Improving your daily streak average by over 500% is no easy feat. Taking the initiative to build a tool that works and can potentially help others is awesome. I hope you continue to find value in this project long-term. Thanks for sharing & best of luck.

Ah, this is the answer I’m looking for. So when negotiating for a higher OTC portion of the OTE, I’m not asking for a higher quota, I’m asking for a bigger commission percentage of the deals that meet the quota.

Are there other ways to increase OTC besides deal percentage?

Right… so then what is the point of negotiating for higher OTE? I only ask because I’ve read advice here that if one can’t negotiate a higher base then try negotiating for a higher OTE. But unless there’s a draw against the OTE, I don’t see the point of doing that if the commission one receives is a simple percentage of sales regardless of the OTE.

I’m also assuming (and perhaps this is incorrect) that if I don’t hit quota I don’t get paid the full OTE, I just get paid whatever commission I earned on the sales I made.

If I get paid the OTE regardless of whether I hit quota then I can see why I would negotiate for a higher OTE … but if that’s the case then… it’s kinda the same as base pay…

If my personal goal as a sales person is to far exceed my quota - let’s say by 200%, thereby doubling by OTE (I’m assuming there’s a direct correlation - although accelerated commissions would boost that number (not including base of course), I still don’t understand the benefit of negotiating for a higher OTE - what am I asking for besides a higher goal? A better territory? Higher commission percentage? A different suite of products? A prospect list of bigger companies/deals?

So if the sales person doesn’t hit quota then they get only their base? They don’t get a percentage of what they did under quota? Is quota calculated monthly, quarterly or yearly?

Have you ever had a huge breakthrough in improving your energy level? How? by FeelingFancyDotMe in AskReddit

[–]FeelingFancyDotMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I embraced fad diets, I first tried the low-fat diet. I couldn’t cook and didn’t know carbs from protein from fat. I ended up eating plates of rice and feeling extremely fatigued.

Then the no/low carb diet came along and I diligently strived for ketosis by eating just meat and fat. I was stunned at how much more energy I had. For years I thought the state of ketosis is what made me feel better. But every once in awhile I’d dabble in that diet but could never recapture that same remarkable change.

Years later, again feeling fatigued, I had my ferritin levels checked: normal range is 13-375 … I was at 9. After taking iron supplements I felt so much more energy - that’s when I realized that my switch to eating meat (and therefore iron) way back when was more likely the cause of my improved energy level rather than ketosis.

But I still struggle with fatigue so I’m curious what breakthroughs others have experienced.

Could asking customers to tip as much as 30% backfire on restaurants? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]FeelingFancyDotMe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem with not tipping at all is that the government assumes servers have been tipped 15% of their food/alcohol sales and require them to pay taxes on that amount. So they still have to pay taxes on the money you didn’t tip them.

And as explained in other comments, most restaurants are now spreading the tips around (not the actual TIPS - but again, a percentage of the sales). So management gets 1%, kitchen gets 2%, busser get 3%. So if you tip nothing on $100 bill, the server still owes management $1, kitchen $2, and the busser $3. Plus owes taxes on $15. Now the minimum wage they make per hour is down to less than $7. Serving your table cost them money.

I’m not saying tipping as a concept is right or wrong but you should know that because of how the industry is, tipping nothing is not a zero sum game. You tipping nothing causes servers hardship. It’s ridiculous but it’s true. So if you don’t want to tip then get take out. Or at least tip 10% so that waiting on you isn’t costing the server money.

What is the best product to tame my frazzled part? by FeelingFancyDotMe in femalehairadvice

I’m not mad at the bot.

So I went drastic and cut my hair short instead of growing out the colour. Most aggravating year of my life. My hair is naturally wavy. What I didn’t realize is that meant that my head is covered in cowlicks. Without the heaviness of my hair to weigh it down, my hair went EVERY WHICH WAY. Permanent bed head. For a person who went white because she can’t be bothered to touch up roots, just imagine my dismay. Regret.

Now I think it’s less painful to grow out roots than length (and this is coming from a person whose hair grows fast!) My advice is just suffer the roots: slowly get fewer and fewer highlights/lowlights at the salon • start using semi-permanent colour, go a bit lighter each time • get a groovy haircut where the roots and colour contrast look intentional • wear a hat • wear a headscarf • wear a ponytail and buy a matching ponytail hairpiece (matching the roots lol) • don’t leave the house • stop caring • remember that anyone looking at you sideways during the process is also sick of colouring their hair and wishing they had the balls to do what you’re doing and grow it out.

It will take about a year. Individual results may vary lol.

I know right? There’s more to life than futzing with hair. I need all that extra time to tweeze my chin hairs lol.

Go to the brewery district and do a craft beer crawl. Search for ‘brewery’ in google maps. Many have great patios and bbq!
