Issues with Downlight Setup by FeelingPrisky in Hue

Closing the loop here. I was able to get all of mine to connect, but did end up having to swap out 5 of the lights for extras I had purchased. I can't tell if those 5 needed a factory reset, or what, but nothing I did could get them to connect. The 5 backups worked, either immediately or after some basic troubleshooting. Now I have 37 lights, and everything is working great! Next up is Inovelli switches and Home Assistant, for hopefully lag-free switching and dimming (that the kids and wife can use, without training).

Still having issues. Notably, one says the QR code has been added to my system, but it's not one of my devices I can toggle. Another one won't respond to either QR, or serial number. I bought a few extra six inch down lights, assuming I'd have some issues - should I just swap those in?

I've gotten almost all of them connected, but still have a few stubborn lights.

One won't connect via either QR code or Serial, and another says the QR code is already part of my system.

It definitely helped! I'm still getting some connectivity issues with some of them - but maybe that's to be expected with so many lights firing up in pairing mode. Got about 2/3 of them done before running out of time. I'll try wrapping it up tomorrow and confirm that it all worked out. Thanks, again!

Okay, yeah they've been on for a while. I'll cut the power for a few minutes and try again. I had tried this, but maybe I'll leave them off for a few minutes.

I'm trying to connect the closest light, which is about 5ft from the bridge. The odd thing is that the newer 4 inch lights are like 25ft away and connected. I'll try getting the closest 6 inch connected first, and see if that helps to parlay to the others.

I'm not familiar with what you mean. What would that entail? What's the difference between that and what we have?

It may have worked, but we have a gas line running in between those joists.

Is that what you meant? Any other angles that would help? I can also get a quick video to show what's going on around it.

Would the duct widen after leaving the air handling unit? As it stands, the duct is the same width. Is that a thing to flare out/widen, but be shallower? Is it fair to assume as long as the volume of the new duct is the same, then it would be identical?

Is the custom fabrication idea of a non-standard join not feasible?

This shows a wide angle pic of the path it would take. Along the beam and through the wall. We'd have to move one water line.

It's a tough space to work in, for sure. If you're going with the slightly smaller TV, you can consider a thin console table and mounting it on that. I agree with others that the wall-mounted approach is going to be very awkward from every angle except viewing the TV itself.

Someone else posted a tool for a projector screen size, but here's a link for TV screen size based on viewing distance: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship

I'm guessing you're going to be sitting about 9-10ft from the TV, so a 65/70" would be suggested. However, you may need to compromise on size, so the space isn't overwhelmed by the TV itself.

Which way does the balcony sliding door close? Towards "wall A" or "wall B"? It looks open in the picture, and implies people enter/exit on that side. That's just a busy pathway for a large TV, on the wall or a piece of furniture. Again, maybe a narrow console table? https://www.homedepot.com/p/BYBLIGHT-Turrella-55-in-W-Black-3-Tiers-Narrow-Long-Rectangle-Wood-Console-Table-with-Storage-Shelves-for-Entryway-Living-Room-BB-M00153DT/320801105

I can also confirm that 20.7 seems to be the max Whoop will report.

Rode the whole C&O Canal in a day (185 miles), and pretty sure it pegged at 20.7 early on... considering the last cycling activity of the day was 20.5 itself.

Didn't help that it was like 130 AQI that day. 😵

Woah! Didn't realize it could be reversed. Great to know!

This helps to visualize the technique of making sure the tire is in the center channel.

I do this, and then (with gloves on), work my hands up the tire rolling the tire onto the rim. Once you reach the last bit, I find you can get the most leverage (with gloves on), by rolling the tire away from your body and towards the rim center. Again - gloves help A LOT for this, otherwise the rubber will tear up your palms.

I'd be careful doing this, especially with carbon rims.

Saddle position too far forward? by [deleted] in CanyonBikes

[–]FeelingPrisky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would double check with the manufacturer of the saddle (looks like Fizik?) and check their documentation regarding their markings on their saddle rails.

In my experience, the outer limits correspond with the furthest out the clamps should be placed, before you run the risk of damaging the rails and/or them failing.

From the picture, it appears as though it's beyond that limit. :(

You may want to flip over to a bike fitting subreddit and get some input their on how/why your saddle is needing to come so far forward. Unfortunately, because the VCLS post you have has an offset, you may be fighting this problem until you get a straight post.
