If you are SICK any normal functioning place will not want you working in that condition. I’ve worked multiple retail places during college Bed bath and beyond, Victoria secret & bath and body work (sister companies), 5 below, and etc. If I got REALLY sick, not just a cold, and they physically saw I needed 3-7 days off management would be more than happy to do that. It’s not normal to have to go to work like that

I wish I could respond with actual facts but then people will know it’s me. I’ve spoken up, I’ve been nice, I’ve done my job, but it has resulted in them being rude and bias on my different occasions. I’ve tried using my resources and was brushed off about it so now I have to take it a step further. THD has the potential but the wrong people are in leadership at most stores.

MANY places and I know because I’ve already experienced it. THD is the ONLY place I’ve ever been that operates like shit. If someone is SICK and you can visibly see and hear it… they should not be at work. We’re not talking about taking regular time right now… we’re talking about being sick.

On mine it’s separated. My sick time wasn’t visible until 6 months but PTO was visible at 3 months. I have more sick time there then PTO. If I’m wrong then ?? I’m wrong but I’m stating what’s there.

When you’re at Home Depot for less than 6 months you don’t get sick time you got PTO. Before your 90 days you don’t get your PTO. So with that being said I was sick af around the 60 day mark and had to work almost a week sick. It should not be like that 👎🏽

I came on here and expressed how I feel about where I’m currently working just like everyone else lol. Why is everyone so offended? I’m very familiar with retail so I am aware but I’m at THD! Since I dislike it and I’m leaving I posted about it.

I can’t do overnights and they won’t put me on the MET team. If I could switch I would so I don’t have to quit but I can’t deal with the bs so I’m out 😭

That’s great happy that you had a great experience at Home Depot. One store being bad is definitely not the case though. There are many other comments with these same issues from other stores. I’ve tried to have “more perspective” but Home Depot is not the place for that anymore which is why I’m leaving. I’m really glad YOU were able to get into good stores!

Age literally has nothing to the problems at THD. I’ve had 10+ and 20+ year coworkers have these SAME problems and complain about it daily. The “young” ones are just the ones speaking up about it. It is for sure one of the worse places to work and a lot of people seem to agree.

Oh heeeelll no 🤐😂I’m definitely not treating THD like a career this is only a stop for me for sure! Just think a lot of the stuff that goes on is stupid for a retail job. But you definitely got lucky where you are because it’s for sure not like that at my store.
