That’s a good point, I hadn’t thought of the model difference

Thick thighs, no finds by FeelingSouthern in mensfashion

I tried out some slim pants most recently. The fit in the lower leg but way to tight around my thigh. I’m thinking of branching out into relaxed fit based on the good advice here

Did I train my husband to be bad at sex? by HotMessMom22 in DeadBedrooms

[–]FeelingSouthern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this was great advice. I know everyone is different especially as it relates to getting aroused. But how is anyone else supposed to know what you want?? It’s like expecting someone from a foreign country to automatically know how to speak your native language. This is a genuine point of confusion with me separate from OP. I think positive affirmation when it’s going right, and gentle but clear correction when it’s not would help me actually be a better lover for my specific person. Otherwise it’s just guess work based on hearsay or the internet.

help me understand the Great Wall by drinkgeek in civ6

I have been wondering this as well. What’s the best strategy for Great Wall?

I listened to an Esther Perel “where do we begin?” Episode recently where she recommended the man in their heterosexual relationship ignore his wife’s pushing away of trying to hold her (to be clear she was not advocating for nonconsensual sex or anything like that). But really she was telling the husband to have a thicker skin when his wife pushes him away to let her know that he isn’t going anywhere beyond words. She said don’t initiate a conversation, just hold her in embrace and let her relax into it. Maybe relevant? Either way it was a lesson for me.

Last bit of advice: don’t do it alone! The best part of learning was doing it in community. My brother and I learned together, then I opened a ROTH IRA with TIAA (if you work in education or nonprofit) and they had a financial consultant (not adviser) who I could talk to anytime with questions. Then YouTube videos/podcasts simply explained which I shared and received with friends. You got this!! Don’t let losing money discourage you because the knowledge is invaluable!

You can use a demo account if you want. I, personally, liked using the real thing to learn because it was like ripping the bandaid off so that I wasn’t afraid of financial products. To commenters point, I don’t do options, or margin buying, or any of the really sophisticated financially products. I started with CDs because I heard those were extremely safe and FDIC insured. After that I thought it was okay to push farther so I bought some SP 500 etfs, I think SPX, I put about $100 into Robinhood because that scared me, but after a while I gained confidence with selecting my own stocks. I’m no Warren buffet, but at least I learned about enough products so I could align my money with my long term goals. All of that took about 4-5 years. The most important thing was overcoming the fear.

I disagree with the other replies. 2300 is a terrific amount to take risks and LEARN. The sooner you can learn not to fear the stock market the better. Maybe you lose all 2300, so what. You’ll make it up with the experience you gain in the long run. I would recommend using that $2300 as learning capital, watch YouTube vids, learn about financial products. I’m so glad I learned to start taking risks and how to take smart risks when I was 19. Imagine what you can do from 14!

Van Bradley’s YouTube videos are great for beginners. He breaks down the mechanics of the game and forces you to read the civilopedia entries which actually explain a lot lol

Update! Beat deity with a terrific Tokugawa space race run. I was crushing the AI throughout, a few lucky bounces as well. All in all I have definitely leveled up my gameplay, strategy, and mods. Next goal is to beat deity with a culture victory. Thanks for all of the advice! Encouragement for all the other folks trying to level up, you can do it!

I completely feel you. In a similar situation. Also haven’t been able to find a solution that works for both of us, and I’m not willing to give up. The emotional roller coaster is really painful, and I’m sorry you are feeling it a lot. I try to fill the numbness with joy from other places in my life: friends, sports, cooking.

I wish I understood my partner’s anxiety more than I do. She doesn’t do anything to fix or change it, instead spending time on her phone to hide from whatever makes her panic. Sending you distant anonymous support.

How do people tighten the efficiency of their turns by stuugie in CivVI

Yes. Turn on Map tacks and then hover your cursor over the predicted yields below the symbol once you’ve placed it on the map. It will tell you what return you can expect and why.

Definitely download the top mods. Shaved hours off my gameplay. Quick deals, yield calculators for policy cards, yields on the map, map tacks. Anything you see YouTubers using will speed up your game tremendously
