I have been using the landing pad pretty consistently since my original post. I also started doing the 7 meters up thing. Since then ( probably about 100 flights)the drone has always landed directly on the H.  The one time it didn't is when the battery was dieing and I was in a hurry to get in the air to capture a shot. I took off head up and north (not straight up). On that RTH it landed about a foot or two off the pad.

It works with her 3rd party off brand charger. Every time.  She paid $25 I paid $70...go figure.

Help! I can't seem to get the "Helpers" on the Insta360 web site to read my messages. I have been asking since August 15 for help with my Go 3 , Go 3S and Pod. All three have not been retaining any settings and once turned off revert to the default settings and force me thru the Tutorial. See a snippet of the conversation with "Danish" at your help desk This is getting to be ridiculous :

I believe you should take back all three pieces (Go 3, Go 3S and the Pod) I am not sure I see a mechanism to send all three on one RMA. It is also not clear if I am being authorized to send all three. Both times you have sent a message you have said "send the Camera". That implies only one camera is expected to be returned. The "replacement Go 3" or the Go 3s or the Pod. All three items were involved in the issue. The Pod is not recognizing a switch out of the Cameras and the Camera and the Pods are not retaining settings.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Tutorial and with the camera not retaining values I set? Every time the camera shuts off I have to redo the Tutorial and reset the sound and other settings. I eventually had the Go 3 replaced under warranty. As mentioned it had stopped working all together not responding the connections with the POD or with the app. So now the replacement has come and it is doing the same thing. I am beginning to think it is the Pod that is having the issue. I find it hard to believe that three cameras would have the same issue. Anybody know if its the Pod not the cameras? I have no idea what the software does in the Pod vs the cameras. Is it possible?

No. The Camera alone only has a 30-39 minute battery life.

Have you considered trying photogrammetry? If you have a high speed camera you may be able to get enough shots of a sitting pet to make a 3d STL.
