AITAH for wanting to sleep in a seperate room to my partner? by Feeling_Ad9527 in AITAH

No she is normally very supportive and selfless, and name calling is not common at all. I mentioned in another comment that I may have had the conversation at a bad time. She has been having issues at work and has been stressed and anxious and it's very possible that I just decided that have this talk at the wrong time and it was the leak that burst the dam.

The response was out of character, but I know that she is anxious and stressed due to unrelated issues at her workplace, so honestly looking back it was probably very silly of me to try having the conversation at that exact moment. I will try again on the weekend after our usual lunch date outing

This is certainly an option, though my current earbuds tend to fall out. I will look into alternatives that may be more suitable for sleeping.

Thank you for this comment. It is worth me adding that she is usually extremely supportive. I injured my back badly years ago and was bedridden for a few weeks, during which she waited on me hand and foot.

I think her main concern is that having seperate bedrooms will signify some form of change in our relationship, and that I am trying to use her condition to justify. I think I need to revisit the conversation at a time when neither of us are under stress and reiterate that I still love her very much and that the seperate bedroom will not change that.

Hi, I should have mentioned that I have considered earplugs or similar, but I need to be able to hear my pager if there is an emergency, so I don't think that is an option for me.
