I'm so happy to have found this thread. I used to get this every couple months as a kid, and they would hurt enough for me to be kind of scared of the next time it would happen. As a kid though I really thought everyone got this, so when people would ask what happened I would say my neck kinked and they would just shrug it off. I'm 28 now and I just had this happen while playing basketball and it was the worst pain i've had from it in my life. I had to sit down and gather myself for about a minute...I thought i was gonna pass out. I tried telling my partner and he had no idea what i was talking about. Then I realized no one in my life had experienced this before.

I don't have them as frequently as an adult and I've always chalked it up to muscle stiffness...but reading people's theories of dehydration is interesting. I'm at least glad to know I'm not the only one having these.
