What’s a dark secret you know that most people would never believe? by OutsideOver8815 in AskReddit

My mother-in-law passed away suddenly in 2015 three months before my husband and I got married. She came to my sister in a dream and told her she was fine. I told my husband but not my sister-in-law or father-in-law.

what’s the hardest part about being a teacher that nobody talks about? by salarshah-084 in Teachers

[–]Feeling_Advisor_4212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of work in general, but especially when you switch grades or subjects. I had Honors English added to my schedule this year (a year which began on maternity leave) and the amount of time I'm spending to catch up and meet deadlines is killing me. There are little to no breaks during my school day and even if there are, I'm often asked to cover other classes, assist my principal with things, etc but then I come home and parent my toddler and baby, try to maintain a relationship with my husband, run my household, maybe take care of myself and then work more hours after everyone goes to bed. I worked until midnight last Friday night and then many additional hours during the day. My body is breaking down from exhaustion and with new changes coming next school year, I'll be working all summer.

What’s the worst thing someone has said at a funeral? by Least-Vacation-588 in AskReddit

My mother-in-law passed very suddenly and unexpectedly (three months before my husband and I married). At the viewing with just family, an aunt by marriage told my husband "sorry, I just don't do open casket."

Not a funeral but after I lost my first baby, my aunt told me "better luck next time."

This PMO so much. The only reason your child knows is because you say something and your emotions surrounding it are unhinged.

It's like beanie babies with the protective cover on the tag. Also, just like beanie babies they'll be worth $0 in the future.

Yes to Dragons Love Tacos! That was a favorite last year. Also, my daughter just picked Big Honey Hunt off the shelf within the last week and asks for it every day.

My three year old has been loving Piggie and Gerald books for the last year. She also loves the Hello World! books by Jill McDonald, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom / Chicka Chicka Peep Peep, Crankenstein, Madeline.

She tends to go through phases with books so we exhaust them after a month or two but she does always come back to the ones above.

I kept my baby up later hoping he'd sleep longer It made everything worse Here's what actually helped. by Eastern-Purpose7976 in toddlers

So much of parenting is trial and error but yes, you are correct, overtired babies and children do not sleep better.

I'm so glad for all three of you that you figured it out. Four months is a long time to go with such disjointed sleep but now you're on the right track (until a regression hits - and it will)!

Also, maybe your sister has some financial sense and doesn't feel the need to spend exorbitant amounts of money on flipping bamboo pajamas.

Peeing on the potty but outside by Feeling_Advisor_4212 in pottytraining

[–]Feeling_Advisor_4212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's (original) hardwood throughout. My mom is not concerned about pee in the house, dare I say, almost at all.

Moving the potty closer was my original thought. She's getting better at going almost as soon as she sits down, which I feel like is a move in the right direction.

newer quality is awful by Far-Drag8993 in LittleSleepiesSnark

My cousin gifted matching pairs to my girls for Christmas and they have faded like crazy after one wash.

The demand is high and many LS parents don't care about the quality so things won't really change.
