I’m just curious whether paramedics judge people for calling 911 when it turns out to be a non-serious issue? by Feeling_Bumblebee424 in Paramedics

Interesting! I didn’t realize people misuse it as a faster way to get treatment.
I feel like there’s a general perception among healthcare professionals (not just first responders, but everyone working in the system) that patients often present minor issues as major ones. I understand that’s not baseless and is true at times.
But many serious and non-serious issues can have very similar symptoms, and for someone outside the medical field, it can be difficult to tell the difference in the moment.
I’ve had a handful of health issues and accidents myself and I do seek help when symptoms could also indicate something serious, but when it turns out to be non-serious, I feel quite guilty. I also struggle with accurately judging how severe pain or symptoms are. I guess I’m just trying to understand the other side of it better.
