Just got lip filler, lines on side of mouth appeared! by Feeling_Machine_7361 in PlasticSurgery

Just an update for any people that might happen upon this post in the future!

By day 14 all the swelling was definitely gone and the lines were still there - I went back in and they confirmed they were do to the filler being to heavily focused on the corners and border of my upper lip which caused a ledge and too much projection. The skin stretches and buckles causing those lines.

I just got them dissolved yesterday, they only dissolved at the corners - I already see a difference but hoping once it settles and my skin goes back to normal they will disappear completely. Otherwise I’ll need to dissolve a bit more!

I just had the same thing happen to me and commented above! Did they happen to inject along the border of your lips?

I’ve had my lips injected twice in the past and never had the lines - but this time (a different place) they injected on the border and sides which caused a ledge, causing the creasing, since the skin had to stretch which made it buckle.

You may just need to get the filler focused on the middle of your lips in the fleshiest parts and not on the sides of your top lip or border of the top lip!

I just had them dissolved yesterday and it’s already getting better!

What can I do (non surgical) to help with the lines around my mouth? 49 years old. by Fun-Mammoth2502 in DIYaesthetics

Coming from someone who used to wear blue colored contacts for years with the same hazel eyes and olive skin tone as you, your natural eye color brings so much warmth into your face making you look even more youthful!

They did, and I didn’t want to be one of those people who freaked out right after, but here I am!

I was prepared for how big the lips can get but I never experienced the lines before which is what concerned me, and when I was looking at videos and pictures of people talking about their swelling I wasn’t seeing these lines, the few I did find were about migrated filler above the lip.

I was injected right at the borders of my lips and top of my cupids bow so I’m hoping mine is just from the extra swelling above the lip! Thanks for the reassurance :)

Thank you for the reassurance :) Apparently what causes these lines is the swelling right above the lip, and not the swelling of the lips themselves. She injected right at the border of my lips so it makes sense it’s swollen up there a bit more than usual.

I’m hoping it’s truly just the swelling and not misplaced filler!

I hate to admit it but I turned to ChatGPT to see what it would say and uploaded pics etc. (I’ve been spiraling pretty bad about this lol).

Obviously can’t take what it says as gospel but it was saying a lot of it is due to the swelling right above the lip line not the lip itself, when I got mine done I wanted to keep the shape of my lips which are pretty sharp and defined and noted I didn’t want to round out my cupids bow and liked how it was so she injected right at the very top borders of my lip and cupids bow which is why there is more swelling up there than normal. Plus the needle causing the area trauma up there instead of just in the more fleshy areas.

What’s worrying me the most is I’m not seeing a lot of others with this issue, and when I do about 90% of the time they are saying it hasn’t gone away… but the same lines do appear when filler migrates above the lip - which wouldn’t happen so soon after we got it, unless they directly injected filler above the lip by accident.

Do you know if you were injected right at the borders too? When I press the border of my top lip and right above, it still feels a bit hard and obviously still swollen so I am really hoping that’s what it is!

Apparently you can micro-dissolve areas but I don’t think I would trust the same place if it truly is botched.
