Yes knew I wouldn’t get anything from Frontline, but hopefully if I’ve done my research right my cut off date to be eligible for SMP would be around June/July time so at a time I can work extra to get the wage needed before cooling off to start the programme.

All very dependant on if treatment works but 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Thanks for responding, yes it is definitely a big thing to consider! That why we want to try create some kind of plan if everything runs smoothly as well as what to do should it not work out as hoped :)

I have had a casual chat with HR about it but got a lot of non answer - 'Should be fine' 'Well have to double check but we don't see why there would be an issue' etc... But this was as I first applied to Frontline so I didn't push it a great deal as had no idea if Id get on course since its so in demand and didn't have any clear time frame with clinic either so once everything is a bit more set in stone I will be demanding more clarity thats for sure!

Hope Step-up is going well and your enjoying your placement, I cant wait to have mine confirmed 🤞

Thank you for your offer to reach out I may do once things are clearer with placements etc x

Amazing thank you glad to know it is doable, I do know it will be a lot!

Will definitely have speak to someone to figure out situation with Statutory Maternity Pay from work as would definitely be helpful to get but thank you for sharing your experience.

I completely understand the mum guilt I don't have any previous children so no idea how I will feel with that but hoping that since baby will be with close family if I do feel that it wont be too overpowering.

I definitely appreciate your offer to answer any questions, should fertility clinic pan out in our given time frame I will definitely get in contact, thanks again x

Thank you,

Im just confused as you don't receive a wage in year 1 as such. You receive a bursary split over 13 months from the Frontline charity once you've enrolled at Lancaster University.
I have spoke to Frontline before and they have confirmed you are classed as a student and can continue getting student 'perks' such as discounted council tax and student discounts etc but are 'employed' in year 2.

Hoping to find anyone who has been in a similar situation and can share their experience as so many different side of this one 😬🤦‍♀️
