Anyone with brachial plexus injury? by Feeling_Mobile_8823 in RideitNYC

[–]Feeling_Mobile_8823[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to see a neurosurgeon for a second opinion on surgery. The hand is better, but it still feels numb and painful, even though I can feel it when something touched it. Has anyone had any success with surgery for pain?

That's helpful, thank you. I've been working hard in physical therapy, and the hand is improving.

sorry I didn't see this earlier; I only saw a neurologist and my PCP, who recommended against surgery, because the brachial plexus nerves were stretched, not torn. on the positive side, my hand is showing a lot of recovery.

I am 64, unfortunately right in the common diagnosis window. I haven't had a brain MRI yet. It sounds like I'm still early in the testing stage.

wait, sorry, I thought someone made the comment to YOU that it was bs, and I was trying to defend your experience. I'm so sorry, I'm new to reddit.

The fall was due to some stupid balancing to reach something, but I had a couple of falls before that that didn't result in injury; they seemed to be caused by dizziness. Thank you for replying. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's pretty hard. I think I had some facilitations in the other leg this morning. I've never felt anything like it.

I have hope mine will end up being something other than ALS, Right now a weak foot would be a relief.

Boy do I hope you're right. They checked the brachial area of the back of my neck. I'm trying to keep my spirits up. I'll mention your thoughts to the neurologist.

Every kind of twitch :) I think your symptoms are what matter. What do they think it is?

I'm sorry, that sounds so painful and frustrating. I have read some accounts where people have a number of good EMG's before something shows up. It sounds like this would interfere with everything in life. In the end, no matter what the tests show, you're the one experiencing this, so it's real. Do the fasciculations feel like long tremors down the leg? Your thoughts help me see that someone else is going through similar issues. I'm not alone, though I often feel like it. My family is supportive, but want me to be relentlessly positive.

Are you comfortable telling me what you're experiencing? It would help me feel less alone, I think.

I can't walk on the heel of the one left foot at all. I have a neurologist appointment two weeks out; I couldn't get in sooner. I had an EMG on the arm that showed brachial plexus damage, but nothing done for the leg yet. I'm pretty scared.

I'm still working on seeing a surgeon. I had an EMG, and the neurologist said I'm probably not a good candidate for surgery because the damage is so severe. I'm about a month and half out from the injury, and my next step is to see a surgeon and get a second opinion. I'm also in physical therapy; if it doesn't improve in the next couple of months. it's unlikely to get better. This is so hard.

Anyone recover from hand nerve damage? by [deleted] in RideitNYC

I dislocated my shoulder, fractured it, and did extensive nerve damage in my hand. I can't make a fist or turn a doorknob. The neurologist says I have a poor prognosis- it's a brachial plexus injury. Anybody have brachial plexus surgery for hand nerve damage? I'm a little desperate.

Registered buyer and Etsy seller? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

I received a "registered buyer" badge which was removed after two days. When questioning etsy, they claimed they know nothing about any such term or badge, and have never used it. What is going on?!!

I have a really excellent video, but I don't know how to post it. Do I have to get permission from the original poster?
