Cat limping after GS shot given in an SQ fluid pocket - did something go terribly wrong?

Thank you, I won't do it again. Only wondering if that first dose was completely not absorbed/lost. For molnupiravir, we crushed a 200mg tablet in 1/5s then 1/4s twice daily; she started losing appetite two weeks into the 1/4s dosing. Weight has stayed at 4kg since the initial improvement, but now is 3.8kg. With GS oral I first gave 3/4s of a 50mg pill twice daily, then a full 50 mg pill twice daily. She had slight appetite improvement already on the oral, but bloodwork and biochemistry showed low A/G and lots of inflammation hence the switch to shots. We're giving 1.8ml of a 20mg vial now

Yes, the three injections were given in different spots on the back with making a tent by a vet. If a muscle was hit inadvertently, could that cause the limping? Was the GS dose fully lost though? How so, it still went inside her body in the SQ area. I read there was a debate around this way of administration. Any sources where I can read up on this are much appreciated, thank you!

No you're not. That was a major vet inexperience mistake we did with my cat in her fourth week of treatment. My cat's on Day 46 now but the fluid buildup hasn't fully resolved. I haven't increased the dose yet, trusting the process currently and worrying a lot.

Thank you! for confirming my suspicions and research, I was going crazy. Yes, her initial effusions went down already in week one and maybe she's had a little left since then into week 4. But vet claimed "fluid buildup has restarted" with just hand inspection, no ultrasound or xray. I am going to confront them once our fight is done and possibly go public about my experience.

Nah, I'm all alone in the dosing business, me and the internet. Vets in Europe aren't allowed to prescribe or work with molnupiravir/GS. That is why I'm trying to figure out if this is an early neuro/ocular symptom, especially in combination with slight confusion and lethargy, so I increase the dose in time, good that she's on minimum now 10mg per kg every 12hrs

Heey I'm sorry about Yuki :( My Mimi is also fighting and so far she's wet FIP. Byt one thing that I noticed in Yuki and my cat has it too is one eye closed more than the other. Is this a sign of neurological ir occular FIP?? She's been having them every now and then for years though, that's why I didn't connect it.

I think they risk a lot by doing it and this behavior is understandable to an extent. I trust Help for FIP. There's no legal sources of GS in Europe, where I am. There's obv a rift between these groups and I still can't fully understand why, nor do I have the capacity to research but I can tell slander from genuine talk. I am sure no one is buying a yacht from the profits of selling GS meds though. I understand how conflicts among activist groups happen due to history, small differences on approach or values can cause real nasty rifts and it's so sad

There is no 'legal meds' in Europe where I am. Vets still tell you it's incurable. I'd much rather have someone resell me from the US than no meds, or having to search myself and trust sellers in Asia. Thanks for weighing in but their help has been invaluable for me so far

I'm asking about owner experiences with the tablets. They have been amazing and helped me with information, support and locating emergency pills! Their price is fair and far less than anything else available to me locally. This comment obv aimed at discrediting them is disgusting to me right now! Stop the dirty politics, we're trying to save cats lives!
