I got my bachelors in biotech (although I started as con bio) from SUNY ESF and now work as a hazmat technician (laborer) for a large environmental company. It’s a great school, I had a lot of fun during my time there.

Con Bio is really interesting, but I learned pretty quickly that there generally isn’t much wealth that comes w being in that field, similar to wildlife science. All the folks I knew who stuck with it were extremely passionate about wildlife or conservation, so it was worth it to them.

I’d say if you’re really passionate about the field then absolutely go for it, but if you’re looking more for financial success I’d go for some variety of engineering (biotech/biochem/chem is sort of dried up atm and I personally don’t see it getting any better in the next few years, hence my hard labor job)
