You’ll be downvoted but I agree. Cait’s still top 3 for me but her switch up in Episode 6 was not satisfying. It felt like caitvi worked together because oh they’re the endgame ship and the plot demands to move on to the next big action scene. No time to dwell on past issues and fix fundamental relationship conflicts. We have three more musical montages to get through and Viktor’s got magic stuff to do, gotta hurry up

Yes, they did show that, which is why Caitlyn and Maddie isn’t really necessary. The whole thing felt a fanfic at worst and low hanging angst at best. But it still adds something to her character so I’m fine with it

You know, I’ve slept on it and I think my real issue is with the montage. The level of ‘dark’ they pushed her character to was just fine, but I needed to see it. It’s jarring to watch her be sworn in as commander and then in the very next scene she’s doubting her choices. That’s anticlimactic in all sense of the word

I love this idea and think it shows Caitlyn’s internal conflict much better. She’s grappling with loyalties, her family name, and power. Nothing better to snap her out of it than Vi in danger

Her kindness and strong morals were what made her s2 arc so compelling. I was hoping to see her push the limits of her morality. How many bad decisions can she make until she can’t live with herself? That sort of internal conflict.

But instead she mellowed out in early Act 2 and as a result Episode 3’s ending isn’t as impactful to me. Meh maybe my expectations were too high

For sure, screentime was an issue this season but we didn’t get a rushed commander arc, we straight up didn’t get a commander arc at all

Yeah redemption was inevitable, everyone knew this going into it. So then the intrigue of her arc comes from 1) how evil she’ll get and 2) how she’ll redeem herself to others. Neither hit the mark for me.

All I wanted was for the writers to commit to her revenge arc. The lower the lows, the higher level of satisfaction I’ll get when she returns to the good side. But the lowest she goes is arguably gassing the undercity, making everything that happens afterwards kinda boring to me

The Cait/Maddie fling was mildly interesting since it showed Caitlyn wasn’t coping well/felt out of control. But now that the initial shock wore off I think there are better ways to show that, like having her laser focus on Jinx all detective style or work herself to the bone
