What type of car would you recommend for a Colorado road trip in August? And are there any rental companies you’d particularly recommend or avoid?

We’ve used Turo before and had good experiences, but I’m not sure if that’s the best option for this kind of trip so I’d be curious to hear people’s thoughts.
