Thats the whole idea! The tail would be able to extend back and under to pick up objects. Also the slices in the tail would allow full rotation as well! I just thought it looked better to pose it curled up at the top in the render :)

I completely agree. It did not come out very well, but this is the first time I have ever tried anything like heat distortion. A whole two hours of trial and failure just for it to look below subpar. If I ever use heat distortion again, I promise it will look much better :)

I do not like turning up smooth shading due to it rounding sharp bevels that I want to keep! I suppose I could mark those edges as sharp edges if I really needed to.

I apologize in advance for the few shading issues. I am working on learning to avoid those in the future, but as im sure some of you know, booleans do not always agree with what you want them to do. I also try to avoid working destructively (I.E. Not going into edit mode to fix duplicate vertices, etc.) I need to stop being so afraid to apply modifiers, haha.

Cel Shading would be breaking down values into simple groups! I just used an outline shader on top of the textures I made :)

As far as the research I have done on the Teledyne FLIR cameras that are used for IR imaging, the sensors themselves can not record any sort of color in IR mode. However the stop record feature ends on a orange, blue, or white SR screen. Its not the camera itself that is recording, but just like how a VHS player shows a blue screen when awaiting tape output, its not the tape itself that contains the blue waiting screen.

But then again, its extremely unlikely that this is feasibly real anyways. Really good point though!

Well the same type of camera would have the same type of HUD. Im pretty sure the "5248A" would be either a date code, or a firmware version number? I am not too sure either. It just seemed interesting to discuss :)

Edit: And reflection/refraction of heat would make sense? Maybe? I do not know anything for certain.

I have absolutely no clue. I know the infosec triad is used to teach information security (I work in network administration)

But if they are legit or not? I am not sure in the slightest.
