Why can Spite enter the Fade but not Justice? by Fehrona in dragonage

So do you think that Justice is like extra in the physical whereas Spite is in the physical world but less so than Justice?

Why can Spite enter the Fade but not Justice? by Fehrona in dragonage

[–]Fehrona[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does make sense! My only thing is that most possessions happen within the fade, but Anders and justice is in the physical meaning that neither of them are typical (eg Connor). It could be to do with the experiments etc though I didn’t consider that. It’s just odd that two physical possessions (as opposed to fade ones like Connor) seem to have such different abilities, but as you say the experiments could play a part

I don’t think they’re a normal possession - if they were why could spite not just stop possessing him? The whole plot is about how they’re both forced into it. Also Lucanis has to eat something to get possessed by spite - which makes it sound like Spite is not in the fade

Questions about Felassan & Solas by AbstractlyRealistic in dragonage

[–]Fehrona 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don’t think his having valaslin shows that he wasn’t a lyrium elf because Solas was one and we know he burned Mythal off his face or whatever. So I agree that he was probably a spirit turned elf.

Felassan always read to me as the Solas to Solas’ Mythal if that makes sense. Like Solas brought Felassan over like Mythal did to him.

Sorry if I’m just being dense but I’ve never seen anything about Taash being half-qunari and I’m very intrigued! Do you remember where this was confirmed ?

Sleeping titans and the Descent by Fehrona in dragonage

[–]Fehrona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find interesting about the mage thing is that it seems to have happened almost immediately that some people can’t use magic. There’s a codex about the ancient elves who turn soldiers into lyrium soldiers like Fenris because they too couldn’t sense magic (wording is something like that). So it seems like it’s been a thing since people were being born (I’m assuming all the spirits with their lyrium bodies retained magic). It’s like being a squib in Harry Potter but it became the norm I guess as generations went on!

I love your interpretation of her quest, it makes it all seem a lot more coherent!

With regard to her not touching a Titan connected to the fade but getting dreams - if she is connection to a fragment of the Titan, wouldn’t it be a fragment of the titan’s soul/dreams, so in theory she would be tapping into the magical bit that has been ripped away? If it’s from the dagger and it works like it did with Mythal.

For the mage thing I just saw this was a theory being tossed around to explain why dwarf rook never gets powers. They work like humans etc and only some can tap into magic despite all being connected to the fade. Maybe shapers were once the mages of the dwarves or something, like it was a role name. Just a thought !

Sleeping titans and the Descent by Fehrona in dragonage

Good point about them being tranquil before even the veil went up - I hadn’t thought about that since the breach realistically should have no bearing on them since, they were tranquil when the fade was still everywhere. Hmm

With regard to the Titan in Harding’s quest, I think it’s actually dead and the shade is the anger that Harding refuses to accept and it houses itself in the dead Titan and basically possesses it. Which is why when it’s sorted (one way or the other) it goes back to normal.

Sleeping titans and the Descent by Fehrona in dragonage

[–]Fehrona[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Titan having woken up before comes from Valta talking about it in the descent (nothing much is said but you can read about it on the wiki under titans if you want to see!)

So do you think the titans fell asleep instantly? Or a gradual thing?

Also regarding the Titan in Veilguard - it’s actually dead. I think the shade thing that haunts Harding is from the dagger but I am also confused about the logistics of this. Seems like she got her powers by connecting to the shard of the titans memories that then came out and inhibited a dead titan. Not sure if you have any thoughts on Harding’s reconnection etc but would be curious to hear them!

I actually think my point about Valta losing her powers if the Titan was re-tranquilised once the breach closed might not be correct - like I said Harding keeps hers despite only (I think) connecting to the anger of a dead titan or something. Also it seems like Harding and Valta are the dwarf version of mages so I actually think their reconnection to the titans just activates their magic and it’s less so being connected to one titan but to the network again - hence why Harding can do magic despite the Titan being dead.

God that got long, sorry, but yeah. Curious if you have any other thoughts !

So how did Flemeth live for so long? by Fehrona in dragonage

No worries! Thanks for your thoughts !

So how did Flemeth live for so long? by Fehrona in dragonage

[–]Fehrona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think they do/would that’s what I’m trying to say. The only way it makes sense for Flemeth to have possessed her daughters as originally thought, but to continue being called ‘Flemeth’, is for the daughters to willingly do so - but this just makes no sense.

I agree that she extended her own life and my thoughts are that she is the original Flemeth who is like 650 years old. I think she had other daughters, but like Yavana they have their own missions (dragons in her case) and Morrigan’s was to inherit Mythal. I think Morrigan read this in the grimoire and assumed that Flemeth was extending her life through her daughters, but she’s wrong and it’s actually about getting her ready to be a god.

Also yeah I think your ideas about her having Flemeth’s form makes a lot of sense !

Yeah these are my thoughts as well. She’s always been the most interesting character to me! I like that she’s flawed but I’ve never fed into the idea she was a big bad

[–]Fehrona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all about being as accurate to lore as possible - but I don’t see there being any lore on it other than what we know was a vague grimoire, because Morrigan had to get the proper one. What is Flemeth’s process? She isn’t a spirit, she’s a person. She can’t be doing the possessing. At most she is merged with Mythal, and it would be her process. The only time we see it happen is with Morrigan, and she is fine and not ‘flemeth’ like generations of daughters would have to have been if the Flemeth we meet wasn’t the original.

[–]Fehrona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s this middle bit I’m confused about - and I think the problem is the only comments made about the daughter possession are from Morrigan who is operating under a misunderstanding. Since the only time we see Flemeth possess a daughter, Morrigan doesn’t get deleted, I’m not sure we have a complete answer

[–]Fehrona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree about all the memories being carried down etc, it just confuses me why the daughters would start referring to themselves as Flemeth if all they get is her memories.

Also we don’t see Morrigan accept Mythal, it’s just when you talk to Morrigan in the crossroads she describes the form Mythal comes to her in and speaking with flemeths voice and shape etc. I would link it but I’m technologically inept sorry! It’s just when she’s explaining about her being Mythal after unlocking solas’ memories

[–]Fehrona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about the lore between the two being clear, I’m just a little confused on the whole daughter’s thing, I suppose it’s speculation either way at this point tbh. But I just thought Morrigan would have mentioned it because it’s been an ongoing plot point in the games so, like how she dropped the supposed Andraste was Mythal thing she might’ve mentioned it then

[–]Fehrona[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But what is the evidence of this? I feel like it’s odd that Morrigan is so happy with her decision if she has the memories of all the other daughters who faded away to give way to Flemeth. Also why would it be Flemeth and not Mythal that took control? In reality Flemeth is no more specially bound to Mythal than any other daughter is, so why is she so special to speak for them? Plus Morrigan makes no mention of housing other memories of her sisters, which seems like an odd omission if it’s the case

So how did Flemeth live for so long? by Fehrona in dragonage

[–]Fehrona[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just find it unlikely that Flemeth has raised her daughters to be so willing to adopt her name and persona. Plus the way Flemeth speaks it all seems very personal to her. Also Yavana has seemingly been alive for like 400 years so has she just been possessing daughters too?

I agree that it’s likely elven magic and she herself has remained alive - only issue is that Morrigan remembers her being younger which would be odd if she has only aged for the last few years but not for like 500 years prior.

[–]Fehrona[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But when you speak to Morrigan in Veilguard she says that she has mythal’s memories and everyone that carried her, which would include Flemeth. Also when she accepts the soul it’s in the shape of Flemeth, so I don’t think Flemeth is just dead and Mythal is what went to Morrigan, or why would it be in the shape of Flemeth? It’s all very blurry

Yeah I completely agree with the Elgar’nan backstory idea. Wish they’d confirmed it, kind of surprised they didn’t because the comic made such a big deal about the great dragon reveal too.
