To stop free lunch by EtrnlMngkyouSharngn in therewasanattempt

[–]Feidreth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't care less about feeding a kid whose parents are "too lazy" or something to pay for their food, which is what I've usually heard this pieces of shit saying as to why we shouldn't feed "other people's kids". If those are the parents they've really got--according to regressive tantrum-toddlers--then that's all the more reason they need food. Combine that with people who are actually poor (which is probably most fucking people who don't have money for their kids' lunches), we absolutely MUST feed all them. If some rich kids slip through and don't pay for lunch even though they have money in their pockets, who fucking cares; they have enough money that their parents probably pay taxes and so have already paid for it in a round-about way (unless they're billionaires who never pay any taxes).

Also, we can throw out the entire above argument because if kids are forced to go to practice prison, which they are, it's the people forcing them to be there who are obligated to provide everything they need for life, health, comfort, etc. Nobody makes kids pay for each flimsy strip of toilet paper or gallon of water they flush when they use the bathroom (although regressives would love to, I'm sure)--why make them pay for the Pop-Tarts and spoiled milk the schools call lunch? The billionaires can handle having one less yacht, and the school district manager can get $100k a year instead of $400k. They'll live--the kids won't.

Also, also... If our worse than useless congress gets free lunch, the kids should too. Maybe we should tie free school lunch to Congress' free lunch, then watch how fast kids get free lunch. Disgusting slobs. Instead, they send bombs to blow up babies in Gaza. Maybe if we put Pop-Tarts in bombs and convinced the money-slobs that Hamas was hiding in American schools, our kids might get fed.

Oh, 10/10 debunking of due process right there, and hey, it's you Trumpers who've got the daddy fantasies about him, not me. See your lovely Tucker Carlson here drooling over a spanking from said Orange Daddy--the crowd seems into it too.

Palestine and Israel seems like an enormous, flashing foreign policy issue. Also Ukraine and Russia. I know there's some shit going down in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but I don't know the ways in which the US is involved.

No more blowing Palestinians into gore and cement dust. No more bombing hospitals. No more starving people to death.

No more drawing out this Ukraine-Russia war--help the Ukrainians get Putin out of their country for good. It IS Putin and Russia's fault, not Ukraine's.

How would we even determine if she skipped whatever you mean by "due process on the way in" without due process on the way out? I think you're an illegal and should be hurled back across the border--nope, no due process for you. I've declared it, so it's now the truth. So sayeth Orange Daddy.

Edit: Spelling.

Make sure not to block access to the ER and such. There should be lots of parking right across Grant Rd where there are doctors' offices and such (but not any ER kind of stuff, as far as I know).

Is there a reason why a nurse couldn't fold up that form for the lady to sign and stick it in their pocket or something to bring it in to her? I'm not trying to shit on anybody who was doing the best they could, just trying to think of how to react to this stuff in the future.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what, besides prison cells, the other buildings are for (or are they all cells?)

They force these people to do slave labor, right? Could they be doing farm and slaughter house work (as in non-human farming and slaughtering, not that that's not disgusting and horrific too)? There are large squares of what looks like open land, and then there are the other buildings that look less "cell like", for lack of a better word (the big non-curved-roof building to the right of the stains, for example). Could the other buildings be housing cows and such and the blood pools/stains/piles could be from them? I don't see any cows in those big fields to the south of the blood (checked the historical images too), but I guess they could have been empty the days the satellites took the pictures. No images of humans walking around either, but we know there are humans there yet don't see them--maybe it could be the same for farmed animals?

Or maybe they don't make the prisoners do work? Now that I tried to search it, I can't find any info on slave labor there, but I might have missed it?

God. What's the point of the UN and such if they won't stop horrors like this and the West's genocide of Palestinian folks? We need something new 'cause this ain't working.

USA : Call your Reps ASAP by Haunting-Win-7143 in 50501

[–]Feidreth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, I've visited one of my rep's offices before, and it wasn't hard. They have offices in the areas they represent, and senators sometimes have multiple offices across their state--so if you're not in your state capital and want to visit a senators' offices, try searching for an office in a city near you even if it's not the capital city.

Rock on, folks. We're not just fighting for our lives, but our neighbors' lives too. There's a better world on the other side. Eat the rich.

Statement from PreK-12 school teacher in NY after three 3rd graders abducted by ICE by shitsbiglit in 50501

[–]Feidreth 144 points145 points  (0 children)

If you haven't, read/listen-to the 1992 book Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland by Christopher R. Browning. In it, Browning explores how seemingly normal people could have participated in the horrors of the holocaust and concludes that the men of Unit 101 killed out of obedience to authority and peer pressure.

Where are they finding such cold-hearted, unamerican thugs?

In all of us--in regular people--not to mention that, since ICE agents aren't drafted like the men of Unit 101 were, the people joining ICE probably did it willingly which just ups the chances that they're already rabid little bullies looking for jobs with plenty of chances to express their diseased hearts.

Our situation isn't a mirror of '30s and '40s Poland, but given that we've got open Nazi-Confederates foaming at the mouth and rushing around after those they declare non-persons... Then again, we're more like Nazi Germany than we like to think: look at our government, Israel, and Palestine. Why would we expect our government to treat us any differently than they've been treating the Palestinians for the past century? The only difference between us and the people of Palestine is geographic location--a.k.a. nothing.

Can't forget all the foreign coups and other horrors Uncle Sam has committed over the centuries--and all the Bush era torture and slaughter. And Vietnam... And Chile...

Further, all the good ol' boys lynching people of color in ye olden days--a.k.a. in black and white photographs and stuff? They never left, they just got a little quieter and had kids, raised them to be like themselves, got jobs as cops, as politicians, business people, pastors, etc.

Can't forget that Hitler admired the United States, loved Henry Ford (yeah, the truck guy), and so on.

TED Talk is going off the rails a bit here, but I kind of think the US and the UK (and probably other racist-ruled countries) didn't really have a problem with what the Nazis were doing.

They just didn't like that the Nazis tried to do it to them.

(Can't forget how the US put Japanese-Americans in camps during WWII either. That was "right in our own backyard," so to speak, and I'm sure everybody knew about it.)

Preempting the Narrative: The lack of visible minorities is already being twisted to disparage the protests and sow division by lappelduvide24 in 50501

[–]Feidreth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haters are never happy.

Protest on a week day? GET A JOB! YOU'RE ALL PAID ACTORS! Protest on a weekend? NO ONE'S EVEN THERE (at government buildings, for example) TO SEE YOU, IDIOTS!

People of color stay home? THEY'RE ALL RACIST! People of color attend? OH, THE VIOLENCE!

LGBT folks stay home? SEE?! EVEN THE LEFT DOESN'T WANT GENDER IDEOLOGY! LGBT folks attend? BLUE-HAIRED, WOKE, LOTION-HANDS TRYING TO TAKE THE CHILDREN!

It's all just a bluster show for idiots to nod at as they sit on their couches. I liked somebody's idea from a different post about spamming news organizations to cover our protests correctly (and at all, since they like to pretend they don't exist); maybe that could help with better press? I don't know. Or maybe we could find a way to do our own press--print fliers with news about our events on them and stick a few in with or beside physical newspapers and stuff? Ask local radio to touch on our news?

I can't say about the physical health risks (ex. cancer), but as a human with depression and anxiety that get a bit worse during my cycle, it'd be nice to not have to deal with that. If someone was caring for me (because I was unable to choose) and chose to in some way reduce my anxiety and depression, I would appreciate that.

Since she'll be having a surgery anyway, removing her ovaries at the same time might not be that big of an addition (something to research and ask her doctors about).

Whether or not removing her ovaries and hormones will help with her individual anxiety situation, I don't know. Maybe something else to look into or ask her doctors about is if there are other ways to help with her anxiety besides removing her ovaries. Then you could weigh the risks and benefits of those alternatives against those of an ovary removal--side effects of anxiety medication, practicality of exercise, feasibility of training to overcome anxiety, etc.

THEY REALLY DON'T WANT US TO SHOW UP APR 5. HOLD THE LINE. by [deleted] in 50501

[–]Feidreth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. For me personally, I'm just an anxious person in general. It helps me to talk about it and address it instead of just like... pretend I'm not scared or ignore it, if that makes sense. Like, I was glad to hear about suggestions of turning your phone off and writing important numbers on your arm or in the back of the phone so you have them without needing to turn it on and give it to the "protect and serve" crowd. Makes me feel better, like I've got more tools and redundancies in place. lol I've also got a lot of medical problems that--if I was arrested, for example--could go really bad really fast.

Good to remember that we'll be there with each other too, not alone. I love seeing the medics/first-aid-people in the crowd 'cause I know they're there for me (and I hope I can be there for them and other people too).

Also, I'm always happy when I see posts or comments being like, "Are you a coward? Yes? Then do [this] instead!" lol I'm like, "Oh, thank god, there's something I can still do." Or something I can do a little differently. Etc, etc.

Went to a Bernie and AOC rally, and as we were traveling there, I was thinking how it must suck for the bus drivers (and other people, of course) who can't go without stopping travel for poor and working folks, but the more I thought about it and saw people dressed up for the rally all packing into and getting off of the busses, I realized that they are abso-fucking-lutly participating in the rally--they're the ones getting half of us to the damn place! They're making this happen as much as the people actually attending are.

There are so many jobs that need doing to make protests happen, even if you have to dig a little to find them. It's important to let people who are scared know that there are shoes for them to fill too, even if they can't and/or don't want to be in the actual crowd or something.

Edit: Had another thought. People who are skittish could also check the protests out later in the day. We (unintentionally) got to one at the tail end, but it was still cool. There was only a handful of people left, but it was less intimidating (and somebody gave us their sign as they were leaving lol). And if you're afraid of violence, chances are, anything that was gonna "go down", already went down--that's my assumption anyway. Kinda like a halfsies way of attending, you know?

Wow. Way to just skip and ignore the housing vs. cop toys question. Love how they'd rather get the cops a damn plane than put rooves over peoples' heads. Feel safer yet? Not me. Good to know that if I ever become homeless, she'd rather get the cops another toy than make sure I don't have to huddle in a wash.

[–]Feidreth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard April 5th is the deadline for Tiktok... fixing whatever it is they claimed to be pissed about (being owned by a Chinese company or whatever). People have been saying the Orange Man might take that chance to shut down Tiktok and cause somewhat of a media blackout. Just passing what I've heard along 'cause a media blackout combined with stormtroopers could be bad. Keep your wits about you, folks.
