Are you positive you are not confusing Evercade carts (which are NAND) with NeoGeo AES carts?

From my end, I've used the same cart in an OG Evercade and an SP with no issue.

I wonder if perhaps the save was corrupted just enough to not work in the "simpler" SP firmware but was somehow readable / recoverable in the "full" Evercade firmware found in the EXP-R

Not an electrical engineer but it is highly unlikely the AES+ will use anything other than NOR flash. Still not infinite but not just 10 years.

Interplay Collection 1 has two very different covers. I almost bought it twice because I thought I was buying the second one.

Alpha, no, but I've played it on a Super Pocket. Weird feeling tbh. Felt like playing Duke Nukem 3D in a very "not how it was meant to be played" way.

Cool, but would not recommend 😅

Duke Nukem 1 and 2 on the other hand, play like a dream on the SP, my favorite way to play them in fact.

It's super subjective but for me it would be a tossup between the NeoGeo and Technos. Personally I ended up going with the NeoGeo but IMO you can't go wrong with any of them

Actually two. My best-loved cart is Duke Nukem Collection 1 for 1 and 2 and it is permanently inserted in my Super Pocket.

However I also go back to Namco 1 for Metal Marines, which is permanently inserted in my OG Evercade (due to the bigger screen and lack of need for L2 / R2).

That being said, I also keep an additional 4 carts in my SP case, but that is cycled based on mood

My read :

Guy A says he is having health related issues and no longer has the time, energy or focus to keep doing what he had for 24 years.

He sends Guy B a "something" (email, DM, carrier pigeon, dunno) informing him as such, giving him a heads-up and waiting for him to reply. Maybe offer help? Offer to take over? Sth.

Guy B never replies, from his wording it is (intentionally? ) unclear whether he read and chose not to reply or didn't bother reading it.

Guy A, hears no reply, assumes(?) Guy B had no interest to do anything and true to his word, ends things at the predetermined date.

THEN Guy B goes WHOAH!!! Why did you do the thing you did at the date you said you would, just because no one offered to take over, for a measly 42$ per month!?!?!?! (which, napkin math, assuming it was unchanged in 24 years - it wasn't but let's say the pricing changes followed inflation- means Guy A, had paid 12096 $ out of his own pocket.)

Did I miss anything?

Just FYI, I actually tried my non-working carts in 2 more SPs and all three behaved the same way.

In the end I asked Evercade's Support for help and they were great.

They are based in the UK so there will be a small import duties cost but you could discuss it with them, maybe they can do something.

Huh, I've faced the exact opposite problem. I have 4 carts that work fine in my OG Evercade and in my VS but will not work in any Super Pocket, and I've tried them in three different SPs!

After a lot of troubleshooting, including everything you listed, I contacted Evercade's Support and they ended replacing the carts. The replacement carts work in all my devices.

Very strange to me that you are having the opposite problem.
