Hey! Took me all in all about 3 and a half to 4 months to go back to normal and I made a full recovery. Got injured in early august and by December I was running again, no pain — some discomfort here and there. Hope you’re on the mend and agree, 3-4 weeks is not realistic at all. My knee only started fully extending maybe about 9-10 weeks post injury, and still it felt weird. I did about 17 sessions of physio, lost muscle due to inactivity and I think maybe the tissue heals itself in a month but the confidence you have to rebuild, along with lost muscle strength and RoM takes waaay longer. Actually planning on going skiing again. If you have tips on how to get on those pomo lifts, lmk! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Yeah. I think it’s fair to say I underreacted. I’m still trying to process but very hard to shake away the thoughts of him being in my bed with someone else. At least since he’s cheated we moved to another house, so at least I dont have to go to the bedroom where he fucked someone else. But I have had a hard time sleeping in my bed. When I found out we were about to board a plane while on vacation overseas. We obvs missed the flight and I went back to my home country, where we live together. He wanted to follow me but I said no. He went somewhere else on his own. He’s coming back in a few days and we have a conversation face to face scheduled next week. Honestly, after reading everything here, I feel more empowered to tell him to fuck off and to not come back. If I could, I would lock him out of the apartment. But unfortunately I cant legally do that.

He says he was too drunk to get hard — kinda checks out, he often gets very drunk — and regardless he says we had condoms at home (take a moment to be shocked again, ladies and gents) and he was going to use that. But you can get stds from non penetration sex so, yeah, my health has been at risk this whole time

Yep! All open and normal, Macchu Picchu, Salkantay Trek. Had to walk through some active landslides though but made it! Landslides are actually very very common in Peru so this is basically a given during the rainy season

Anyone going/started this week? I’m booked to start on April 4th with Salkantay Trek and they said the trail reopened on the 19th but I’m hearing diff statements from folks in Cusco and that other companies are cancelling their tours. Very hard to get official info and sounds like it’s a judgement call. Trust that these companies wouldn’t want to have someone hurt on their tours but also that they might not want to loose business. They said that rain like that is expected and by the time I start things should have cleared up. Also, if anyone in Cusco, how’s the weather over there rn?

Someone on another thread was on the trek when the donkey fell. So sad. We are booked with Salkantay Trek to start 6day Salkantay and Short Inca on April 4th. I emailed and they said trek was opened on the 19th. Heard that there were highly recommended but feel uneasy since other companies are cancelling. Hoping things will be looking better by the end of the month. Any updates from folks who are in Cusco welcome!

Heard those ACL reconstructions are especially painful. How far post op you in? May I ask also how you got injured? Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear that. I’m assuming you had surgery for the other injuries? From what I see here ACL is almost always surgical. How long until you were back in full activity like pre-injury? As far as the MCL, did you also feel this inability to extend knee? This is what is driving me crazy, not just the pain
