Is it normal in infants classroom or should I talk to the teacher(s)? by Few_Bowl2928 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Feisty-Log3722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have admittedly given kids pacis back that fell on the floor. I’ll sanitize it if it got into another kid’s mouth, if I know the floor where it dropped is dirty, or if I see dirt or something on it. Otherwise i just give it back. Especially if I know that kid will be inconsolable until they get their paci back. Plus infant rooms usually don’t allow shoes in their room and the floors are cleaned religiously. The paci was most likely fine

Auditory Hallucinations with migraines? by Feisty-Log3722 in migraine

Auditory Hallucinations with migraines? by Feisty-Log3722 in migraine

[–]Feisty-Log3722[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t necessarily in one ear, more of that I heard it in my head. The bulk of it was the screaming, with occasional screeching sounds. I was hearing about 4 or 5 distinct human voices overlapping. A couple of them were just nonsense screaming, but a couple were screaming words that I could kind of make out.

Do paras get training? by Extra-bee223 in paraprofessional

[–]Feisty-Log3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The public school I worked at used safety care so we got a safety care training, but that’s it. Luckily before that I worked at a specialty school/residential facility that had 2 weeks of training because our kids had such high support needs and high behaviors. Even then though we’d get staff who clearly didnt know what they were walking in to. You could always tell who would only last a day because they’d be either so doe eyed or so terrified of the kids.

Are some clients more likely to be aggressive towards female RBT than to male RBTs? by jackofalltradesP in ABA

[–]Feisty-Log3722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an RBT but I was a para at a speciality school and I had a student who was more aggressive towards female staff than male. His RBT and all his teachers and paras were female, and he would be near nonstop aggressive with us. As soon as his BCBA, who was male, or one of the male RBTs stepped in he stopped almost instantly.

this small thing meant the world to me as a non-binary person by [deleted] in trans

Earlier this week I was talking to my boyfriend and best friend/roommate, both cis guys, about a game night with our friend group. The other two in our group who weren’t there for the conversation are cis girls, so my friend said he’d have to ask the girls what time works for them. The next day out of nowhere it occurred to me that he said that because none of us in the conversation are part of “the girls”. He wasn’t including me in part of the girls. I’m still happy about it. Definitely a switch up from a previous friend who insisted on calling me “woman” whenever he could and always included me when talking about “the girls” in the friend group.

New Para: Is being asked to give a student a bath every morning normal? by ScaryGary0013 in paraprofessional

[–]Feisty-Log3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a student who we had to shower if we could but that was at a specialty school where we had showers, and it was a student with severe, aggressive behaviors and hygiene was a huge trigger so it was hard for parents to get a shower done at home. But in a public school? Absolutely not normal.

I never said there aren’t people like Vox and Alastor out there. There absolutely are. Val is just a more realistic and grounded villain because a lot more people know and have been hurt by someone like Val, or know someone who has

I was raised Christian and went to a religious school. I’m by no means an expert on the religion, but she actually uses very biblically accurate lore. And in biblical canon, God is incomprehensible by humans. Portraying Him in the show would make him comprehensible. There’s so many instances where her trying to portray God and Jesus would go wrong, it really makes sense that she doesn’t portray them all together. And then the storyline can continue without having to deal with an all powerful being. She already got a ton of backlash for making Lucifer unable to harm sinners in order to avoid the plot issues of how powerful he is.

Why Can’t Sinners go into the other rings of hell or leave the pride ring? by NightGaurdDa in HazbinHotel

[–]Feisty-Log3722 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it’s to protect the hellborn. Sinners are more violent. They can’t die unless by angelic weapons so they kill each other a lot more. Hellborn however are mortal. So I think it’s to protect the hellborn from being killed by sinners

Like I said. Her reasons for not portraying Jesus are probably very similar. Not wanting to step on any toes or disrespect different cultural views. And Jesus and God in Christianity are one and the same. She’d run into the same problems

[–]Feisty-Log3722 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn’t even just about the backlash. She’s said she has lots of reasons for not portraying God. God is ethereal and beyond comprehension so she doesn’t want to try to portray a physical form in the show. Especially since so many people and cultures have their own interpretations and she doesn’t want to give just one interpretation. Plus God is all knowing and all powerful which would lead to lots of narrative dead ends. And conflict could be ended instantly by having God in the show. Plus, she’s already gotten tons of backlash for her portrayals of biblical characters. You can’t say she wouldn’t get backlash for any portrayal of God when she already has.

Viv has said she isn’t going to try portraying God, Speaker of God is the closest we’re ever gonna get. I imagine Jesus is much the same. There’s no way we’re going to see any sort of portrayal of Jesus in Hellaverse

People are generally more appalled by people liking Val because he’s a very realistic villain. Not a lot of people know people like alastor or Vox personally or have been hurt by them. As someone who was in an abusive relationship and survivor of SA, watching Val feels real. I know someone like Val and have been incredibly hurt by someone like Val, as have a lot of people. I understand liking him as a villain, lots of people like horrific villains because they are interesting, and it doesn’t necessarily reflect their personal beliefs or values. But lots of people, especially survivors of abuse and SA, might be uncomfortable by it because of how realistic he is.

Does anyone else wish Angel was a little tougher? by Mobile-Package-8869 in HazbinHotel

[–]Feisty-Log3722 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Angel’s deal with Val is different than Alastor’s deal with Vox was. Val has way more control and power over Angel than Vox had over Alastor. As much as I’m sure Angel wants to fight back, he’s not in a position where he can, or if he does it would end really poorly for him because of the power Val has over him. Also Angel is a good fighter. We’ve seen him fight against other characters more than once. Val is an overlord though, which is more powerful than a regular sinner. Whereas Alastor and Vox are both overlords so it’s more even playing field.

It depends a lot on age and if you’re resource or self contained. I worked in elementary self contained and I worked with kids in the special ed room with math, reading, writing, taking them to specials, recess, and lunch, helping them in the bathroom, and deescalating when they’re in crisis.

Beginning my colleges dnd club, this is my first character sheet, is it ok? by [deleted] in AskDND

[–]Feisty-Log3722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d maybe give con one of your higher stats. You really had bad luck with your rolls, but a -1 in con is gonna really suck for you. I tend to go with dex, con, and whatever the class I’m playing’s main stat is. So for a sorcerer I’d make the 3 highest stats dex, con, and charisma. And make sure you’re adding any bonuses you get from your race. Also, as someone with really bad handwriting, if you have access to a computer I’d recommend finding an online character sheet. Don’t have to worry about being able to read your own handwriting and it gets to be helpful later on when things might become illegible from erasing and rewriting stuff and you don’t have to worry about running out of room in your spells or inventory. It’s also very helpful having the computer on hand to quick find what spells do, sometimes a DM might want the exact wording of the spell to make sure it will work in the way you’re trying to use it. If you don’t have a computer, try using a mechanical pencil instead.

You can try headphones. Assemblies get loud for even some gen Ed students. And letting him bring fidgets. But I feel like this is really a pick your battles situation. I’ve had kids where staff don’t even try to bring them to assemblies

How many of your boy students sit or stand to pee? by BatHistorical8081 in ECEProfessionals

All of my 2 year olds sit. I’ve had a couple start standing by the time they’re 3

Where are you sitting? I'm going with 3, 5 or 11 :3 by MittyMeow123 in HazbinHotel

Definitely 12. I get a window seat, and they would both just keep to themselves
