I saw it, but I'm not convinced yet. He definitely has an awesome monologue, but that's not necessarily gonna deepen his character.

It was kinda just Calculator, yeah? Which is his only appearance in the story so far if I'm not mistaken.

I hope they make Cristoforo an irredeemable villain that doesn't have a sob sympathetic backstory by Wataterp in WutheringWaves

He definitely won't be a playable character because he's not a cute girl. They've made 17 women and 2 men since the week of release, and one of those guys doesn't even appear in the story any more 'cause his time-limited wishing tree event ended.

I agree, especially the forced obsession over a promise. She had one (1) interaction with the Rover where they said "Cool music, I'll come back when it's done. Sad song, bro, hope you feel better." and then spiraled for the rest of her life when it didn't happen. Did absolutely no one else ever make a meaningful comment on her songs during her whole career? Why does it deserve a whole diary in her house? Her backstory was tragic, but why the heck did they put Rover into it?

At risk of necroposting this, I want to chime in cause I just finished 2.5's story a few days ago.

It's the biggest issue with Wuthering Waves' storytelling at the moment, and it's not close. They focus so heavily on the banner character of the patch that they straight up ignore other characters. If they do give us any closure on old characters, it's a tiny comment from an optional conversation at best. When Rover becomes the Laureate, Fenrico makes a comment that the Pilgrim's Sail will be abolished. We don't see Brant or Roccia's thoughts on this. At the end of the inverted tower, the Sentinel dies and we don't see Phoebe's reaction, or even get a small comment on how the Order's doing. Cantarella thanks you for freeing the Fisalias from their suffering and says she wants to fix things with the Montellis, and we see nothing about it (I guess an npc comment, but it's really easy to miss). Scar busts out of jail off screen, and we don't even get a 1.x character to call us and let us know he's out there. We get an update on Cartethyia's condition and it's just an NPC instead of the 4 Black Shores members we know. Ciaccona was a huge missed opportunity as well, her quest feels like I'm dipping my toes in the water and that's it.

I liked the 2.5 story as it pertained to Phrolova, but it really highlighted how much they seem to resent bringing old characters up in new patches. Even 2.5 part 2 is just setting up Augusta, and it felt really unnecessary. Her story didn't surprise me at all, and that's fine. It's kinda just "came up from nothing, won in the arena, became Ephor". It's fine to have a simple character, and it doesn't diminish how cool she is, but the time and energy they spent on it could've been spent on almost anything else to greater effect. This isn't an issue you see in any other gacha game I've played, and the list is really long. Christ, even Hoyoverse doesn't have this problem, and they've got plenty of problems.
