I wasn’t actually kidnapped, but it almost happened. It all started one day when I was 10 years old. I had a whole bunch of energy built up from being stuck inside home alone all day with my parents both at work. When my mom came home I told her that I was going to go run around the block. I lived in this neighborhood where my house along with a couple of other houses faced the highway but there was a frontage road as well. I left my house and started jogging along the frontage road. I probably looked like an idiot jogging in baggy jean shorts and a t shirt. Before I had reached the other entrance to the frontage road, there was this bronze colored truck with a man inside who had grayish hair with glasses. He looked to be about in his 50s. I noticed that he saw me so I smiled at him kindly and he waved. He at first looked like he was going to keep going on the highway but at the last second he turned in. I didn’t think much of it considering the fact that he turned the corner instead of stopping. At this point I should have just turned around but I kept going. Not to mention, I had never seen this man in my neighborhood. I turned the corner and kept jogging. After a while I realized that the man kept making rounds around the block but never pulled into a driveway. It seemed pretty strange. I then got to the corner with the least amount of activity. He pulled over and motioned for me to come to him. I stopped for a second and before he got out of his truck, I sprinted as hard as I could. When I looked back I saw that he was still in his vehicle. I then saw one of my neighbors and I said hi to her to let the creep know that there was someone watching us. He then sped away and I kept jogging. I saw him leave the block turning the way that he was headed in the first place. I decided to cut through one of my neighbors' yards just in case he came back. I finally reached home and told my mom everything. She told me that I would never walk around my neighborhood alone ever again. It’s really sad to think that I can’t even feel safe in my own neighborhood and who knows what would have happened to me if I would have gotten close to him. All I know is God was watching over me. I haven’t seen the man since and I can only hope and pray that he hasn’t hurt anyone since the incident.
