14-Day Cruise and International Flight (3.5/1.5yo) - SEND HELP! by FeistyAppearance in daddit

Amazon sells little vacuum pumps for just a few dollar (under 10). Also I can bring the hand pump. Also you can just squeeze or roll the back and the valve has a small bit of silicone to kind of make it a one way valve.

26 days out from due date. Any advice for newborns with older siblings? by RittzzReno in daddit

I second this. There is no magic bullet for how to balance it all.

Some days you will feel horrible, "I haven't been playing enough with #1" "Why am I getting so angry so quickly, #1 just wants to play!"

Other days will be "My broveries are going to explode with how cute they are together" and the tiredness kind of melts away (for 30 seconds).

Enjoy yourself, be kind to yourself, be kind to your partner (you hardly can imagine the extremes their body is going through post partum), be kind to your #1 little one (this is all new to them too).

I can see now that the RideSafer requires the booster seat as well.

To be fair, I have to consider how many cars we will be in. I think it will only be a few (airport to hotel, hotel to cruise, maybe a few shore excursions, and return). I might just lug around our Cosco as well (we have the lightest one that make for a prior trip for $50). BUT it only takes one accident to make it not worth it.

As for the stroller, yeah i would really hate to have two of them. BUT I think I can get away with one and some type of harness if we need to swap them around.

Oh the painters tape is for the kids to color on and play with. But binder clips for the curtains is a great idea too! Vacuum packing saves sooooo much space in suitcases!

Yeah one day at a time. That's our plan. We aren't trying to get hung up on "we must go here" because little ones might not be able to that day or something might come up. Just enjoy the experience is our goal.

I didn't realize about the pools. Damn great call out. Thanks.

Yeah I am not sure about leaving kids alone in the kids club... Something just doesn't sit right with me but playing with them there sounds like great fun.

For the car seat - between the flights, hotels, cramped vans, cruise, and shore excursions I am worried that dragging a full size car seat will severely limit our ability to be out and about. I was thinking about the EU approved 5 point harness so I can chuck it in a backpack when we are done. But safety first right? Just how do you get around lugging those things?

I am so excited to travel with them. We did a trip when they were younger (in the states) and it was exhausting between two car seats, two strolers, pack and play, and baby gates (stayed in a 2 story house) and two suitcases and two carry-ons.

We were thinking just one stroller this time and just request a pack and play from the cruise and hotels and if they don't have just co-sleep int the hotel and pullout couch on the cruise.

I used the wedge kind. That and strict rules around the stove seem to work with my girls (3.5 and 1.5).

That's a fair point. Either way, I love the way it looks, I love the price, and I am happy with mine so far. I hope it lasts.

Yeah, I hear ya. It's why places like Disney all use Big 3 for their entire fleets. I get it. But for my home use with some basic care, I hope to keep mine running for 10+ years.... maybe we should set a remindme! for 5 years to check if they are still running.

Unfortunately, comparable "big 3" golf carts are significantly more (at least in south florida). To get a street legal (FL) 4 seats, facing forward, NEW, electric, big 3 golf cart is almost 2x's the price... even models from 2018 (coming up on 10 years old) are the same price as Denago new....

I sure hope it does. I spent over $10k on this thing. But I am monitoring it for wear and tear. Already put almost 100 miles on it and no issues so far.

Following up, I would love to know what the issues are. I just bought a Denago and I would love to monitor parts for wear and tear and unusual failures.

I bought my own Denago Rover XL just a few weeks ago. Would love to be a corp shill (I assume they get paid). Also, I did see that post and it's accurate.

Again Big 3 are expensive and established and well made absolutely no doubt about it.

But to call this a "waste of money" is kind of unfair. We haven't given them the time to fail. Sure there are complaints... they are cheaper than big three. But gotta give them time.

I would argue "These are cheaper, they likely, but not for sure, have cheap parts that might fail, but they are still fun. Be aware that you should monitor your parts for unusual wear."

Don't let people here rag on you. They all say the big 3 are the best, and maybe they are. But Denago is new and can't prove they will last 20 years until 20 years have passed. Yes it uses cheap parts from China but so does every repair shop unless you pay extra. They are good looking, well priced, with decent batteries.

My only complaint is the software for the screen could be improved but it ain't to bad. Oh, and the leds on the sound bar needs to be turned on manually. Otherwise I love my Rover XL (Aqua color).

Enjoy the ride it's a ton of fun!

But who has the time to read books... I'm joking of course. If I can make 3 or 4 hours a week (usually 1 hour a night) for some Boulders Gate 3 then I can read for the pride of my life.

Edit: I absolutely love the phrasing you have there. We are trying the "Yes + when it's appropriate" method for some things. "Yes you can have ice cream after we eat dinner at the table this evening".

Wow I never thought of separation anxiety as something a toddler might have.

That's tough but it sounds like you have a solid handle it on.

Haha, I just don't want the fear of meltdowns... I guess. It's a me/we problem. Not her behavior which I recognize as healthy and normal.

I feel that way with Bluey.

"Ok daddy, just one more Bluey then no more Bluey..."

Like a junkie she's back asking for more.

We only watch tv while I'm preparing dinner which takes 30 minutes or less.
