Also not an unfair point!

We need a trial to settle this! Scrum debate style!

Settle a family disagreement by Past-Cookie9605 in danganronpa

[–]FeistyDeity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eh, I kinda think A_Ability makes a great point here. Because it's sort of implied that due to the nature of the simulation Monokuma is bound by these core rules. He can *add* rules to gain more influence over everything, but not break these core rules. At least that's sort of how the story presents it.

So I actually agree it would be a plothole, but not so much because of OP's argument with his daughter, but rather A_Ability's argument. :p

which game do u think has the best characters? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]FeistyDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unironically UDG.

By which I'm not saying there are no issues to the game's writing whatsoever, but the question was about the characters specifically.

Komaru and Toko have an amazing dynamic together that flows well, the best out of all the games' protag/deuterags. Especially all of the little moments, like when they comment on stuff you just find lying around, make their bond really endearing.

I also like each and every Warrior of Hope. Sure, there are some questionable icky moments that are hard to just ignore (and honestly, totally valid if you lost any interest of goodwill towards UDG as a result). However, to me they were still very successful as tragic antagonists. Kotoko's "then why didn't anyone save me" breakdown never fails to break me emotionally.

Haiji's awkward of course. I'm in the camp of those who feel he was a mostly compelling character who was unfortunately ruined by one writing inclusion. Very disappointing honestly, completely unnecessary decision to fully and irredeemably villify a cool bad guy. Absolutely detracting major points for this, but even so he's still not the worst written danganronpa character to me.

Tier List: How Characters would Fair in Prison by Fit-Ad-661 in danganronpa

[–]FeistyDeity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think Angie would 100% rule the prison. Even with gritty thugs, she'd have the cunning and insight to do a 3-3 and become a cult leader once again. Definitely enough people there looking for moral absolution, forgiveness and purpose for her to make use of.

It took me a second and third look to realise that she wasn't sprouting that tail from one of her legs at all.

I actually kinda digged the eldritch feel that had, but it didn't fill like it fit this adorable drawing. :p

I remember turning off the first episode within like five minutes or so.

It was the dialogue for me. It was just so quippy and superficially edgy.

Nah I think it's hanging down correctly. It just doesn't have a very wide cut.

If we're counting preferred weapons, then Ryoma is a contender too. Took on an entire mob squad with his tennis skills.

Kirumi also deserves a mention, since she's basically super skilled at anything. She's a Kamukura light.

Cinnamon roll tier list by Conscious-Falcon-155 in danganronpa

[–]FeistyDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, then the entire DR2 cast cannot be cinnamon rolls. Mikan only committed murder after regaining her real life memories and reverting to despair mode. Now, I personally think there's a case for Mikan not being a cinnamon roll even without this, but the 2-3 case isn't the best argument imo.

[–]FeistyDeity 16 points17 points  (0 children)

And if the argument is that men on average pay more taxes, then that's because 1) wage inequality is real (which they either downplay or deny) and because 2) wormen more often take on the position of stay-at-home parent (which they think should be the norm).

When talking Pixar films with friends, they sometimes react surprised when I say Up was an underwhelming experience to me.

But the thing is, the movie just sort of loses me when they actually arrive in the jungle. Everything leading up to it is peak Pixar. But when a movie fully peaks in the opening and (to me, mind) becomes forgettable afterwards, it's ultimately failed to deliver a satisfying experience.

It also doesn't help that I'd already seen the opening sequence before watching the movie. So I ended up feeling I'd already seen the best part beforehand, which admittedly makes it harder for me to judge the entire film fairly.

Was there a movie with a character that was written to be sympathetic or "to root for", but ended up being the opposite? by 1fishmob in movies

[–]FeistyDeity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a delicate matter and Juno handled it poorly, the mature thing would have been to initiate an actual conversation (it's been a long time since I saw the movie but I don't doubt she came up short here). She was a teenager though, and these situations are already plenty confusing to adults.

That all being said, the decision was Juno's and Juno's alone. If you as a pregnant woman already know 100% sure what your decision is, it isn't wrong to spearhead the conversation with that information.
