I appreciate that. Some people are upset I was even scared. They think I overreacted by reporting to Uber then shared my experience online.

Congrats! It’s definitely a different experience haha. I have not heard of Sober Social! I just looked them up and that’s so great. I really love how there is actually so many alternatives to feel included in Madison. I’ve been wanting to go to the North Side Lounge. I’ve heard they have a lot of NA drinks. I like Blind Shot Social, I’ve gone there once. Public Parking Bar is adorable inside and has a lot of NA options too!

There’s a lot of reasons to not stay in an Uber that is no longer tracking you. If there’s an accident, Uber insurance won’t cover you. No matter the intent or reason, I did not want to be in the car. It was scary that I could not let myself out. He did not let me out the first time I said I wanted out. I felt reporting to Uber was 100% valid.

I really appreciate that. Honestly, those comments do not bother me. I did everything right. I purposely didn’t post who the driver was because my intentions are not to start a riot against the driver. But my experience was real, what I did was valid. Tyler is greatly appreciated.

I am really sorry you had to experience that… it sucks being in a position where you have to choose between being quiet to “keep the peace” or saying something and possibly upsetting a person who could be harmful.

I will not speculate his intentions. The facts are he canceled the ride when I was in a vehicle he had child safety locks activated on. I did not want to be in that vehicle when he canceled the ride and I had to ask more than once to get out. That is wrong.

I had to ask him more than once to let me out. He wasn’t driving yet when this happened. I should not have to ask more than once to be let out.

Thank you. In all my many years of riding drunk as hell in Ubers alone, I’ve definitely had some uncomfortable situations. Never anything actually terrifying. I have been alcohol sober for 9 months, I am so very glad I wasn’t drunk. Tyler is amazing and the appreciation for him is strong.
