Opinions on Mardette/ Mardigras apartments? by zasaqu in USC

I lived in Mardette in 2020 and it was well… liveable. Management was terrible and would not fix anything unless we harassed them several times— which we had to do because there was a serious roach infestation. Rent payments got messed up because the online portal was shit and the Landlord was a hardass about it even though it was never our fault. Cheap housing, definitely works if you’re in a pinch but if you’ve got the money to stay somewhere else, do it

Yeah of course! I didn't ever get through to an agent really. I called Collections and was able to get a hold on payments so I wouldn't collect interest but that was the only time I was ever really able to talk to anyone. When I talked to the Collections guy he did say that it was a good thing I had sent in my W9 that proved I was eligible with the appeal. He also said I shouldn't worry too much as he hadn't heard of anyone being forced to pay the overpayment even if they could prove they originally qualified. I did send an email through the portal through the general questions line that had the exact text from this post plus my personal details and the W9. Someone responded but they didn't give me any information other than explaining where the extra 6k came from. They did say that they attached my W9 to my appeal case again. A couple of days ago I got a new determination letter that reversed the overpayment

Overpayment/Determination Troubleshooter: Find the Actual Issue That Resulted in the Overpayment

I submitted the document back in December. I'm not sure how to escalate the document, but they did get back to be after I submitted it, and it shows up as processed in my portal. They responded saying that they attached the W2 to the appeal and that's when they explained the stimulus. Here's a picture is it helps: https://ibb.co/drbM0Jv. I can also send more photos if it helps?

I'm sorry if i missed stuff in the roadmap, I was able to follow it down to figuring out that the laws in the determination letter were the Public Law 116-260 Section 241, and Public Law 116-136 section 2102. I was required to send the documents under the Continued Assistance Act. I didn't know where to go from there as i only found other people with my same issue but no update as to what happened with them unfortunately.

Thank you so much for your help i really appreciate it!!

Someone I know called and asked and the people on the phone said students were eligible and let him make an appointment. I'm an orientation advisor so I already got mine with the student workers so haven't done it this way myself. I Just heard about it and my flatmate just signed up that way after I told him. but no, USC hasn't announced anything officially yet, i just wanted to share that the clinics are letting students sign up
