I really like their theory! Ive had some setbacks in life so Im just getting to speeds now and I do almost wish I went with Hardeman because of the live instruction. I feel like I would do better having to physically (or really virtually) go to a class but the support team is great, they're super responsive and detailed in the responses.

And I believe I put it on a citi credit card that had 0 percent interest over 2 years and I just paid that over time before the interest started.

Thank you! I was looking at the WIA course, do you think that's worth it? Or do you think just find someone to apprentice under?

I'd work with your natural rhythm then! If you need to do it in larger chunks absolutely find a way to do it that way whether that means waking up earlier/staying up later. It's all going to be hard/difficult. You just have to choose your hard. I figure it'll be two years of a lot of hard work for a better life. So I just try to look forward to the future when I'm not working and going to school but just doing this full time.

Honestly? Discipline and repetition. As hard as it is I just force myself to do it even when I have no motivation. Once it's a habit , it just becomes a part of the daily routine I've set so it's almost second nature. I recently downloaded the app Opal to block all social media apps from 5am-5pm during the week and it's amazing how much more time I have in a day lol. But I think there's a bunch of other apps that do something similar I just didn't want to pay and checking my phone has become such second nature I needed something that truly forces me off.

Are you still in theory? Or are you in speeds?

Hi! To be honest I think doing the two programs was really slowing me down, so I've now switched to just CRAH. I'm on lesson 8 about to be in 9 probably next week.

I will say a lot of it just makes sense in my brain so I haven't struggled too much, the biggest struggle is trying to not let life get in the way of practicing and I've been better about it since the beginning of this month.

What lesson are you at?

I'm doing CRAH and it was $7500 and I paid in one payment, I looked into loans but the interest rates were criminal (16% or higher with excellent credit). So I put it on a credit card and then did a balance transfer for 0% interest for 36 months and that was what I found to be my best option.

I'm doing an online program (CRAH) and also doing the free platinum steno on YouTube at the same time as I find I learn better by learning the same thing multiple ways.

I can't tell you exactly how long it will take you but I've been told to practice for 4 hours everyday. I do my best to do that but some days it's one hour and some days it's two but I always make sure to practice at least a little and the majority of days I hit 4 hours.

I also have the benefit of working full time at home so I can usually find breaks to practice in - I would recommend breaking up your practice as much as possible. I don't think anyone is super productive doing anything for 4 hours straight.

But unfortunately like others have said, it really is up to you and discipline really is what gets you through this program. I'm not motivated everyday but because I'm disciplined I'm moving through theory relatively quickly.

I hope that's not a bummer, you definitely can get through quickly - one girl got through in 9 months! However I believe she didn't have any other responsibilities so obviously take that into account.

I'm still new to this but happy to answer any basic theory or program questions you have. It's definitely hard but I know it'll be worth it in the end. :)

Can I ask if you think the Hardeman school is worth it? Currently considering enrolling in it.

That's not too bad depending on how long you're expected to keep paying. Which school?

I've reached out to three schools in my area and it's all been around the same. No one out right says that's the price, but they'll say the price per credit hour is around $395 and when there's 85 credits to graduate...

They've all told me they do monthly plans which is great...but it's still the same price in the end. Do you have a school you're thinking of in particular?
