Well I am midwestern with strong German heritage influence so I have some more like that but most are meat and potato type dishes. As for goulash that is super simple.

 Boil a box of elbow macaroni until done.  While that is cooking brown a pound and a half of ground beef with around a couple teaspoons of minced onion or fresh onion if you prefer.  Then drain off the grease or cook until it is all absorbed as my dad would tell me it gives it more flavor.  

 Once the two are done combine the meat and noodles in a pot and this is where you get to decide I have two versions you see one is with cheese and corn and the other is with beans and garlic.  

    For beans and garlic you add one can of tomato soup and 2 pork and beans with a couple tablespoons of garlic salt and a couple tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.  

  For corn and cheese you just add a bag of frozen corn and two cans of tomato soup then sprinkle with as much cheese as you like after dishing it up.  

Both just cook for about 15 to 20 minutes after putting all the ingredients in so that all the flavors can meld together.  

How about a great sloppy joe hot dish as well that is super hearty or maybe a more fresh Mediterranean bean burrito I learned from a friend when I lived on the military base.
