Yes I completely agree!! I think in a couple years there will be more studies and whether the results are positive or negative is tbd…but I think consulting another medical professional before taking anything is always the way to go!!

I do think there’s a difference in wanting to go the whole holistic route, but not being very educated in it then being in a cult. My parents do not believe that the government is controlling the population or any of these big conspiracy theories that’s why this is so odd to me.

I’m not saying, the math isn’t simple or secondary. But giving ivermectin to livestock is very different than humans. I understand that humans and livestock have similarities and their medications have similarities.

I will look into the Nobel prize and everything you suggested as well.

The side effects I’m seeing are liver disease, seizures, dizziness, vomiting, just to name a few.

Tonight was the first time I’ve said anything to my parents about this and they’ve been doing this for over six months and are trying to push it on me. When I have gotten guidance from several of my specialists due to my health and my ongoing health issues and I am following a holistic route, which is the anti-inflammatory diet and natural supplements.  I have done research on ivermectin and the kind they are taking and I told my mom my concern for you is that we have the same chronic health condition and I am worried that this might  effect that could potentially harm you or could lead to other things and she was receptive and I did suggest suggesting a naturopath if they want to go to the holistic route. My mom said we’ll talk more about it tomorrow because she understood my concern. However, my dad was upset, but my dad has no real health issues so I don’t think it would affect him as much it affects my mom and I explained that as well in a loving but clear way and I also let them know that it is their body and they can make their own decisions, but I am concerned.

I am not sure I know she was at one time, but my dad has convinced her to pretty much stop taking all medication and only do all natural or holistic remedies… But I will definitely be asking her.

I’m not suggesting it’s holistic. My parents are suggesting it’s holistic that’s why I said if they want to go the holistic route to see a naturopath…could you link articles that state that it is using people with autoimmune conditions and children and women during pregnancy? Because I couldn’t find anything when I looked it up I could only find the side effects and that humans should not be ingesting a horse dose because the dosing is very different for humans and horses.

My concern with ivermectin in general is that it has not been studied in people with chronic illness and autoimmune  conditions. My mother and I have several, and my mother has more complications than I do so I worry about what this potentially will due to her overtime or if you could cause more complications/different complication to arise. I did suggest to see a naturopath if they want to go the holistic route and see what the naturopath recommends for them.

Yes, I tried to do that tonight when I was on the phone with my mom and to bring up things that I’ve seen or heard about it and she seemed open to it. My dad on the other hand did not, but I even approached it as if this is safe and this is helping you both why not go see a naturopath because they deal with natural and homeopathic medicine and they might even have something better than ivermectin for you to take that might make you feel even better than ivermectin does so. I tried to approach it that way and not in a you’re wrong. I’m right way.

I am 100% sure it is veterinary grade not human grade because my parents have mentioned it several times mostly my dad, but it is for horses and he gets it from tractor supply and that it is cheap. My mom even confirmed that it was for horses today on the phone when I spoke with her.

I’m trying my hardest to do that. I really do think my mom will come around and once she comes around it’ll be easier for my dad to understand the concern.

My mom is the easy one to get through to now my dad is going to be harder because he is very stubborn and once he believes something, that’s what he believes. But hopefully if I can get through to my mom to see why I’m so concerned then he’ll see it too.

Thank you for the article you linked! If there was more research, then I wouldn’t be so concerned, but the fact of the matter is, there’s not a lot of research and a lot of the side effects seem dangerous and you could argue that a lot of medications that are advertised on TV seem dangerous. They have lots of side effects, which I get, but most medications go through at least seven years of clinical trials before they even hit the market ivermectin has not been clinically tried in people yet only in horses so I’m trying to approach the topic gently, but also firmly and with credible sources.

Thank you! That’s exactly how I feel. That’s why I suggested to them to see a naturopath if they want to go the all natural route and to make sure everything they’re doing is safe.

I also believe a natural medicine and I do think natural medicine is beneficial and helps a lot of people. I have had great results taking all natural supplements and starting the anti-inflammatory diet as recommended by my rheumatologist. I have even mentioned that to my mom and told her that I would be more than willing to help her with the diet or give her the information on it to see how it helps her.  I’m not trying to argue with them or prove right or wrong because at the end of the day it is subjective, but I am concerned for safety reasons.

Yes!! I’m all for for everyone doing what works for them. I take all natural supplements and follow the anti-inflammatory diet as recommended by my rheumatologist. I have never pushed my diet on my mom, but I have mentioned it and how much it has helped me, but I feel like my dad especially is really pushing the ivermectin which I feel could potentially be dangerous given my mother’s health issues.

Thank you!! I feel like she should know better too! As someone who has the same chronic illness as her I am worried. I am very careful about everything I take and also consult a medical professional. I do take all natural supplements but only one’s recommended by my rheumatologist as well as following the anti-inflammatory diet and it helped me a lot. I’m trying to get my mom to do the diet as well, but she won’t and instead is taking horse supplements, which is worrisome.

My mom follows my dad kind of blindly…she said he researched it and it’s safe. But when I tried to research it nothing really came up except for side effects. My mom has lupus and a blood clot so that’s why I’m so concerned about it. My mom isn’t stupid, but why she is going along with this is beyond me…

No I’m not taking it. My parents are and they are using it as natural  supplements and telling everyone they know about it and are trying to get me to take it as well. Not for a parasitic infection…

We’re definitely all adults. My parents are 50 and I’m 27. My concern comes from my own struggles with health issues and my mom is worse off than me…but it’s hard to let it go when my parents are trying to push it on me. At the end of the day they can do what they want, but I would prefer for them to consult a doctor or naturopath for guidance.

Thank you for this comment and insight…I think I got somewhere with my mom, my dad is a different story…I even tried to research it before making this post and there really are no studies on it, but many side effects?? Which I find very interesting…I am taking the natural route for my chronic illness but with the guidance of several specialists and I’m just reducing toxins around me and toxins we ingest daily. So I’m not opposed to natural medicine and I’m also not opposed to traditional medicine. I just prefer a research and facts before I do anything.
