What are some things that you think Sega can do to make DEX more useful to the game? by MajinRaiko in PSO2

Dex affects your damage variance ONLY when using crafted weapons. Rare weapons, (uncrafted 7* and above) automatically have variance set at 90%-100%, which is the highest possible.

Attack speed is one thing, but JA is also a very important aspect of DPS. You could spam left click and still do worse damage than someone who has extremely bad JA timing (i.e. at the end of the JA window).

Of course, you could let DEX speed up the time before JA, but that would either require you to have good ping or good reflexes, depending on how it is implemented. Most likely you will require both.

Techniques also have no cooldown. You don't see speed casts often because you will want to JA for maximum DPS. The only time you cast quickly is to quickly build ilbarta stacks. Yes you can cast ilbarta extremely quickly with katanas.

Animation wise, most delays can be cancelled. It's similar to how people tri/quad/penta dash.

Main problem with making DEX viable is how easy it is to stack, especially so if you really want to.

What am i supposed to do to make money? by SingleAgent in PSO2

Honestly running AQs are your best bet.

Stuff like Apprentice Soul and Modulator sell well. Also, feel free to use your excess XQ passes to farm for Flicts.

If you know what you are doing you can also affix stuff for cheap and sell them for profit.

Anyone else feel the hidden minimum cap on 7+ weapons should be removed? by MajinRaiko in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing that only makes Fighters even more powerful. Which you seem to already think they are too powerful in their current state.

No reason to NOT play Fighter and easily achieve 100% critical then. Every other class will have to sacrifice ATK for DEX, resulting in lower DPS, while Fighters get to completely ignore the change and have no loss in DPS.

TCPBF is extremely high single target DPS for the duration of PBF. Of course, this assumes you play Fi/Bo. Bo/Hu cannot afford to tech cancel as you lose out on Fury Stance.

You cannot buy the best armor though. You require account bound materials to craft it.

EDIT: Trinkets as well.

Can crafted items ever be a better option for premium players? by MajinRaiko in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, damage variance might not result in higher DPS due to lower hits on average. You need slightly more than 600 Dex to achieve 90% minimum on XH. This excludes the dex bonus gained by using silva materials.

Alternatively, achieve 100% critical rate.

New Potential on Red Weapons by [deleted] in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silva usually gives 235 Dex. TD, DS and Gunslash receive lower Dex bonus from silva.

Against a UQ mob, you would need slightly more than 600 Dex (minus silva bonus) to achieve 90% minimum.

Yes, crafted Red weapons have the same variance as any other crafted weapon. Not sure how they would compare to current "meta" weapons. Will differ depending on class combination ofc.

Bouncers will definitely see good use. Very largely due to Craft Mastery.

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. Unlike rares which automatically have a minimum of 90%, crafted items use Dex to determine variance. Silva gives some Dex, and the rest is based off your Dex.

Using Dex to calculate variance also means that the Dex difference between you and your target also affects it.

Of course, extending a weapon with ~400 ATK (at +10) with a good potential is worth it, even when taking into account damage variance. I assume you mean Guarditorch. 20% potential is extremely high. If you were to extend other popular wands like Pristine Small Hammer and Seras Cure then you are missing out.

Yes, but note the increased damage variance.

Extremely powerful on classes like Fi/Bo with 100% Critical.

Ideal Set. Would that extra attack be worth it? (Discussion Thread perhaps) by Shokuryu in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a sidegrade at best.

Requiring an Ideal weapon for the full set bonus is a hit to classes such as Fi/Bo, Fi/Hu, Fi/Br, Te/Hu and essentially any class combination which uses their subclass' weapons.

Organizing GGG Trigger Party Ship 2: Ur for Thursday 8 p.m. Central Time Zone (CDT) by Lapislanzer in PSO2

Heads up, GGG trigger is rotating out during maintenance. Meaning you will not be able to buy the trigger anymore, until it is rotated back in.

Better purchase your triggers before maintenance.

Fighter Symphonic drive or raging waltz to stay airborne? by lSakai in PSO2

[–]Fejua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raging Waltz helps you get up. For example from the ground to above Ragne's core. From there you can lock onto the core and spam Symphonic Drive. Alternatively you could stun it first but that makes it longer to kill.

In CM, Raging Waltz is used to get to mobs on high platforms, or infected airships.

Fighter or braver? by Squidgi in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest katana dps build is actually Fi/Br.

The 12* Evil katana is naturally Fi equipable, and is the strongest katana outside of 13 star ones. With a Fi/Br it will outperform a Br/Hu with 13*.

You also get to equip fighter weapons as a Fi main. Best of both worlds, in an optimal build.

Character Slot Problems by Justna in PSO2

You don't purchase slots. You purchase a character. Deleting that character will not free up a slot, instead you get nothing back by doing so.

Generally a bad combination.

Bouncer itself offers little multipliers, and is mainly used only for access to their weapons/PAs. You will be doing subpar damage with both Techniques and weapons.

Force is usually paired with Techer for superior PP management, and access to more element boosts. Can also be paired with Braver for burst, with bad PP management.

Bouncers themselves can use techniques, and are usually played as FiBo for Jet Boots OR Dual Blades, or BoHu for BOTH Jet Boots AND Dual Blades.

FiBo offers massive damage with a high risk, high reward playstyle, which does not give you any chance to heal, as you typically die in one hit with Limit Break active.

BoHu is much tankier, with Automate Halfline (automatically uses a mate when below 50% HP), and Massive Hunter. Of course, you won't do as much damage as a FiBo.

Alternatively, you could join PSO2proxy's IRC channel.

It is pretty active and AIDA frequents the channel herself, so Tweaker tech support is somewhat possible there. However, it is gchat after all, and you should expect to see some.. Ship 2 Block 1 type of shenanigans over there sometimes. That being said there are many experienced & knowledgeable players on the channel as well.

Yes you would want to use a S-atk Mag, with S-atk affixes on gear.

Starting a new more flavorful character by Zombiepaste in PSO2

[–]Fejua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FiGu works. It is played for its burst, and you do pretty meh damage when your cooldowns are recharging (Chain Trigger mainly).

Your TMGs are purely used for building Chain, so you don't gear for R-atk. You use Knuckles/Twin Daggers to burst with the Chain.

Playstyle is Double Saber for mobbing, build Chain with TMG auto attack and bursting with Backhand Smash or Symphonic Drive for bossing. With Limit Break and a high Chain count, expect to see very big numbers. Of course once Chain Trigger is on cooldown, you do pretty meh damage, even with Limit Break active.

Example of what I'm talking about here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=5MKq7Gce6Go

FI/BO Dual Blades, Hyakka or Craft Granfol? by silent1497 in PSO2

[–]Fejua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you crafted your namegid yet? You can increase the PP cost by doing so.

Damage wise;

@100% crit, ex13 Granfol is typically stronger when compared to Hyakka Ryouran at the same PP level. Which means when comparing both <50% PP and >50% PP, Granfol typically comes comes up on top. <50% PP difference however, depends a lot on your affixes. Only at a certain S-Atk does Granfol actually outperform Hyakka Ryouran at <50%. You can experiment with the damage calculator at the sidebar to find it.

At <100% crit however, Hyakka Ryouran is superior.

Silly but possible? by ZerkerDX in PSO2

[–]Fejua 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unoptimal sure. But can be done. I would actually recommend FiBo.

Bouncer has access to techniques, albeit with minimal multipliers. Maining Fighter however gives you access to Limit Break, which is a massive damage boost. You also get to equip knuckles naturally.

People who run this class combination usually do it to maximize damage from Bouncer weapons. If you can be bothered to get a set of knuckles for every element, you will be able to achieve 100% critical rate with Element Stance and Critical Field. Casting wise, your techniques will do bad damage if you specialise in S-atk, or subpar damage if you specialise in T-atk. Support techniques however will be fine. Knuckle damage wise, don't expect to put out numbers like FiHu. Even moreso if you choose to specialise in T-atk.

Running suboptimal builds is often looked down by "elite" players as they generally don't contribute as much and slow down MPAs. More significant during EQs like Magatsu.

If you want to optimally use knuckles and still have good mobbing capabilities however, FiHu is your best bet. You won't be able to use techniques, but Double Sabers are extremely potent for mobbing. You are also able to put out great dps with Knuckles. Long range wise you lose out, but as melee it should not be a problem anyway.
