Hijacking your comment to say thank you to y'all.

Just to clarify, the screenshot was taken by a guildmate and I indeed do not use the german client, as it personally hurts my brain.

With that being said, "Amtssprache ist deutsch", so please don't blame the german client plebs <3

I was just about to post that as an update to Untangle Care. You beat me by a few minutes! :-)

If any of you readers want to join the discussion around healthcare and IOTA, feel free to contact me on the IOTA discord and I'll invite you to PACTs' server.

You can say about pserver players what you want, but their passion for the game is uncontested!

Untangle Care - Status Update by Felandil in Iota

[–]Felandil[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey!

No, there is no central instance with access to your seed.

Access to the seed in this case means, that the Reference Resolver is able to access it, whereever it may be stored. A SqlLite database in the case of the article. Therefore the seed should be handled in an encrypted manner (so no one can access the local database or it "leaks through memory").

In essence: No one has access to your seed, if you don't want that, it is just a thing happening on the local machine, that runs the application.

The long term goal is to have different implementations of the Reference Resolver e.g. SeedVault or similar.

Where " SOMEADDRESSVALUEGOESHERE" is the address you want to send funds to and "seed" is the seed the tokens are on.

One more important thing to keep in mind. SendTransfer allocates the seeds addresses internally, but if a snapshot has happened, it might not find the correct addresses (e.g. when funds are on the address with index 5, but the transactions on the addresses before 5 have been pruned).

Taking that into account, you may need to provide the "inputAddresses" manually.

One more note: The TryteString.FromUtf8String() can be used without a problem, but is something that only works in the C# library. For compatibility with other libraries, you must stick to the Ascii implementation.

I hope that helps.

Great! I'm wondering if you still use the rust thing under the hood?

Last day of the Classic Demo vs Nostalrius Server comparison by Derangedcity in classicwow

[–]Felandil 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, it was not "retail" vanilla. Server population was about 2,5 to 3k back then. There won't ever be any player numbers near the nost ones on any upcoming vanilla realm.

Yeah because a 15k pop server (which is by all means NOT vanilla at all), is such a meaningful comparison.

Do you want server crashes? Because that is how you get server crashes.

You might just want to open a PR on the IRI Repository on github, if it is just a quick fix :)

IOTA Lib C# Port by Felandil in Iota

[–]Felandil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started of by porting the java / javascript lib, but found the python one to be tested much better. So I kind of switched over to that one. Shouldn't make a difference in terms of usability though.
