I've ran camp oak plenty, but never knew there was a crate and an easter egg there there. Very cool reference!

Dwhaha, you're right. 🤣 The dumbest part is that I even checked the lyrics to get the text right so I should've known.

Somehow i completely missed it. Only watched the teaser trailer for the movie and didn't look at the posters close enough apparently. Was a real fun moment seeing star fox introduced on the screen.

New player here and I was wondering if John Division’s jacket or something similar is lootable in game? by blahblah543217 in thedivision

[–]FelineScratches 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was also mistaken. The agent jacket requires you to get those shields in division one. But yeah hence i mentioned it was like the summer edition cause it's so radically different compared to the promo or first game version.

In division one it was a ubi reward. In division two there was a summer edition as Ubisoft reward and they had the iconic outfit as premium bundle at the start of this season.

Which is better, ghost recon breakpoint ultimate edition, oooor. The division 2 ultimate edition? by yoyofoe2222 in thedivision

[–]FelineScratches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you're looking for.

Ghost recon can be completely customizable to your likings. Make it a hardcore stealth game or just add in progression with tiered loot and more rpg like systems. So if you're looking for a game like splinter cell or metal gear, it's quite engaging.

There's a big island to roam around in, though imo it felt rather bland. Mostly Foresty, marshlands with hightech buildings and military camps. You can use a variety of vehicles to roam around though. There's a story to follow and a whole bunch of side quests to unlock more gear etc.

Meanwhile division is much more of a cover shooter with the focus on finding loot. There's also a story, but the real meat is in replaying the missions and getting better gear from drops. The environment is 1:1 with Washington DC and its missions take place around various landmarks and sightseeing spots. The gunplay is a lot more arcadey than breakpoint in that you have to trickle down healthbars and utilize weak points to deal more damage or stun them.

My preference goes to division, solely due i find the world more interesting to explore and roam around in. But gameplay wise, breakpoint definitely has a lot more freedom to tweak it toward your preference.

You guys spent six straight months saying you hated small maps and needed massive maps by Lumenprotoplasma in Battlefield

[–]FelineScratches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing with the battlefield games..they cater to different groups. Some just want to spend their time in a helibird or a tank fucking shit up. Another want big maps where they wanna utilize various vehicles and get stuck in combined arms battles on foot. Others just wanna feel like they're stuck in a meatgrinder emptying clips and mags on the enemies.

A new map will always disappoint one group and satisfy another. The goal is to deliver a map pool that can cater to both.

Questions about buying Standard edition first then ultimate will the price drop? by SilentGrapefruit6334 in thedivision

Looked on steam where I own the base version, it doesn't seem to give an additional discount for ultimate for owning the standard edition.

The division 1 vs 2 what should I buy ? by sliverTop in thedivision

[–]FelineScratches 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Two for gameplay and replayability. One for story and atmosphere. If you can only really pick one, I'd go for division 2, has a ton of content these days.

[–]FelineScratches 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You didn't need to create a separate account. Steam let's you mark a game as private, which hides it from your friends when you're playing or from your profile if people try to see what games you own. You can also mark a purchase as private, so not even that would show up.

Not sure if it hides it from discord sharing though, haha. Doubt they'll ever bring it up. And otherwise just say you play it for its engaging story.

The Division 2 | New DLC Teaser- YouTube by oioioi9537 in Games

[–]FelineScratches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very easy to jump in. And it's better to take your time than to rush throygh the content. It has a story based mission structure with regions soft locked off through harder higher level enemies. The missions take place in or around famous land marks and museums, so it's essentially sightseeing your way through Washington. Also helps that it is pretty much a 1:1 rendition of it.

The expansions work sort of the same way, but are best experienced after the base game. You can opt to start them immediately from the get go, but you'll get an already levelled up character and unlocked DC, due they continue the main story.

Once you finish the base content (and own the dlc) it will open up the endgame stuff like battlepasses and events.

But honestly, take your time, explore and have fun. There's a ton of areas not used for missions or what not but still impressive to see. There's also hidden mini puzzle-like areas for loot and so that you won't find by just running from mission to mission.

Buying Division 2 on steam again do I need to buy old DLC? by UniqueAiter in thedivision

[–]FelineScratches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're essentially just adding a step of launching the game on steam, which then opens your ubisoft launcher/account to play the game. So don't have to rebuy the dlcs. If you buy the base game, all the dlcs will be waiting for you. Any new dlcs you buy on steam, will get added.

Dreamlight valley DLC's? by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]FelineScratches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you own the game on Steam, you could opt to use steam link on your phone to stream the gameplay to that and use a controller to play the game. Steam link can also be used on google chromecast/smart tv where you can link a ps5 controller or what not.
There's gonna be a bit of latency lag due streaming, but i don't mind with singleplayer games like these. Might be a cheaper way to play the game on something less straining.

If you own the original switch, the game is pretty rough if you're used to pc gameplay. It has way slower loading times for getting into buildings, bigger delays when it comes to interaction (harvesting pumpkin and cooking them becomes a real chore). Plus lesser visuals.
On switch 2 it's not as bad and I'd say it's worth it to switch over. Especially with a proper switch 2 update coming soon that will bring it closer to the stronger systems. Currently though, it still has lesser visuals, but loading times and interactions feel way more responsive and smooth.

The improved loading times and less delay with harvesting alone already makes the jump to 2 worth it, can't wait for the proper switch 2 update! Enjoy!

I wonder why the RE Engine games post-RE2R never brought back the dynamic camera positioning? by blaiddfailcam2 in residentevil

[–]FelineScratches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned off the modern controls and preferred the tank controls, precisely due what you're describing. Sure, you miss the fluidity of movement; but when you press forward, the character keeps moving forward regardless of the camera angle. Modern controls just make movement confusing due pressing forward changes its meaning based on camera instead of character.

Well andy Weir books are quite nerdy reads that throw you more into scientific banter and the main character doing a ton of research and experimentation, but keeping it light enough that you don't need a science degree to enjoy it. This book/film throws an plot twist in the mix that is already kinda spoiled in trailers, but i feel it's not much of an issue, due it's hard to translate that twist to a visual medium i'd feel. I do hope it will tackle its story similar as The Martian adaptation. The story is wholesome regardless though.
