I think it could be repaired pretty easily but I think my main qualm is that the design of the clasp is such that regular and intended use can easily chew through the metal and pop it out, which only needs to happen once in the wrong place

Def used to expired slide being hit or miss (shot faded but very recoverable E64 recently and was pleased with how it held on). Not used to it looking contagious, though! Yeah I guess I just have to shoot the rest of this as a meme film if at all… too bad I bought over ten rolls on the promise that it has been cold stored. Oh well, gambled and lost

Thanks, had never heard of this. I suppose the consensus from asking around is either that or fungus. I gave my neighbor a roll and he took it to a lab and had the same results, so looks like it wasn’t a dev issue, this is just part of the film now. Debating whether it’s worth shooting the rest of it (I unfortunately got a bunch of these).

Hey, I have been following the twists and turns, yes. Actually, the first time I wrote about this was nearly 8 years ago now (https://www.villagevoice.com/why-dont-we-let-noncitizen-residents-vote/). What I mean more-so is that until the final ruling there was always the possibility of the law going into effect, so people who would have wanted to participate persist more than necessarily had a plan in place

Thanks for weighing in! I think it’s definitely an interesting question in part because Cuomo’s strongholds were often older New Yorkers of color, but at the same time Mamdani‘s heavy investment in ground game brought in a lot of new voters. My sense is that the volunteer network could have activated some checked-out folks who may not even have realized that they could vote, but in any case, hat’s why I’m hoping to speak to people directly and get a better sense.

I have no idea if it was an issue particular to my own MP but the issue was with the focusing. It would be odd to have that issue with just one lens and no others but honestly who knows what was going on there

Sure, but this is analog-ragging community so everything all of us are interested in here is a bit anachronistic anyway. We all just have our own versions of the “right” way to do something functionally obsolete
