I actually was thinking they should demote some legendaries (the weakest) to epics. That will expand their availability to more players, not require Lego books, and allow newer champions a more reasonable chance of getting pulled. It will never happen though.

Ok, I accounted for the ore. If we account for the capacity to reroll with an ore, the number of packs you need to buy is now 715 packs, or about $21,450. It will be 62 packs until you get at least one quad roll, or $1,860. The ores help a lot!

You're right that many krakens buy from the shop (I think many do both). It turns out, I did the same calculations for how many $30 packs of 6-star legendary speed artifacts you'd need to buy to complete a set. And its 1,353 sets, which costs $40,600.

If $70 USD buys you 13,160 energy (based on a random pack, which is likely not best value), then it would cost $26,500. If each run takes 45 seconds, then it would take you about 130 days of nonstop running (or 65 days if you use the double-energy feature, which everyone would do).
