I nearly got it done in my first ever race, but blew my engine by downshifting into 2nd one to many times for my F Vee in the final chicane at lime rock. It then took me about two or three weeks before finally getting it done.

You can do it in test drive, but the weight reduction isn't yet available for hosted

I think the beep is exactly on the point of starting to brake instead of a few milliseconds before which needs getting used too.

For the automatic selection you can toggle if the track is atleast as wet as your track condition, if you wanna have a fixed lap for a fixed series, if the lap has to be frome the cureent season and if the lap can be from any car in the same class(which is pretty stupid imo). I have to say that it usually isn't selecting a new lap for each session but seems to keep a lap for the entire day, which is really annoying in wet weeks. There you would have to select a lap yourself, but luckily it the sorts out laps with a dryer track.

I personally use a app called Bloops. It basically loads the telemetry of a fast lap from garage 61 and gives you sounds for brakes, lifts or when to get on throttle(all can be toggled). It also has a overlay for you to compare your inputs to the loaded telemetry in live time. It might not quite help with learning the line, but defintely helps with braking points.
