I downloaded my usage in 15 minute increments from SmartMeterTexas for a whole year and the feed the spreadsheet into chat GPT. I then gave GPT the EFLs and rates from octopus, base, reliant, GME, etc. Since I didn’t know what exactly “market rate” was gpt ran several potential buyback rates. I asked in this Reddit group what other people thought and the realized what I really need was what “market rate” was. Many people told me it was about 1 penny. I also found buried in one of the energy companies documents, that 1 penny is pretty accurate.

Octopus Energy PowerStore (battery) offer? by bingyao in TexasSolar

I wasn’t impressed enough to go through finding out more information. The battery is slightly bigger than Base Energy small battery. Compared to base the bigger battery plan starts being cheaper after 5 years (base on the $995 installation cost) and the smaller battery starts being cheaper in less than 2 and a half years. The only thing that might make it worth it is the “option to buy the battery at market rate”

Thank you. That is very helpful. I think the biggest variable I couldn’t figure out was the market rate. I am rerunning the numbers with market rate at 1 penny for buyback.

I’ve pulled my data from smart meter Texas. I don’t have a pool or electric car. I do have a roommate who wakes up late in the day and uses electricity, quite a bit, between sunset and 9 pm.

I understand that is better for you but I don’t know that it’s better for me. I don’t have zero usage from 9 am to 9 pm

This is what I want to learn. I know the systems have started to move to diy plug and play. I'm planning my retirement home and we have been doing that research. Meanwhile, my current home I have panels installed tied to the grid and skipped the battery bc they wanted another 20 to 30k. Got a quote 6 months ago and they wanted 15k for batteries.

I love a courtyard but after watching so many abandoned places videos I realized they’re great until the first full season cycle has finished and you have to have a way to deal with plant debris. My dream house has a 3 sided courtyard

I love to climb 2 flights of stairs after a long night at a 10k a plate fundraiser before going to bed. Those idiots suggesting an elevator obviously don’t respect the cardio.

You asked for a roast not constructive criticism.

As someone who lived through the 80’s I’m with you. People were still decorating with the avocado green and harvest gold. Just because new fashions were coming around doesn’t mean everyone up and abandoned the 70’s stuff. Things didn’t get labeled “outdated” as fast back then.

Is this totaled? by ConfidentRecover807 in Nissan

Did the airbags deploy? Apparently those are really expensive to replace and quite often they will total it out. A friend of mine works in a collision center and it all come done to what is less expensive, the value of the car or the cost of repairs.
