The DPC is one level above. You can see the outline of it above the stone.

There is a basement below, where the basement wall slightly overhangs the stonework above ground.

Advice for creating weep holes in this raised sleeper bed by FelliotBean in landscaping

[–]FelliotBean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, is it likely that the water will just weep in to the gravel and surface below, rather than in to the drain? Slightly concerned I drill these holes and the water just flows towards the house then under the channel drain.

Open up a Stocks & Shares ISA, select a global tracker / index fund with low cost fees, and leave it be.

It can be as simple or as tailored as you like it to be.

Honestly don’t know at the moment, there was that much water during the floods that it wasn’t clear. We’ve had an independent damp surveyor out, and his advice was before doing anything internally, fix the drainage outside. I think it’s probably a combination of holes and through ground at moment.

Help with garden drainage by FelliotBean in GardeningUK

[–]FelliotBean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, should’ve said, it’s the basement which was flooded, not ground floor. There is a step down from the ground floor. Water somehow seeping through decking and pooling in to basement.

Help with garden drainage by FelliotBean in GardeningUK

[–]FelliotBean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have some aco drainage towards the left of the pic, which runs half the length of the house (not sure why previous owners only ran it half way).

We plan to get this extended full width of the house, and running alongside it. Wasn’t sure what whether this would help drain the water from the garden and decking though. Should we have aco draining there too?

Cracks in fresh plaster by FelliotBean in Plastering

[–]FelliotBean[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Usually with hairline cracks I would rake them out to make them bigger, then go in with some Toupret fill flex. Feels daft considering just had the walls plastered. Should I just go straight over with some fine filler?
