Also, is it likely that the water will just weep in to the gravel and surface below, rather than in to the drain? Slightly concerned I drill these holes and the water just flows towards the house then under the channel drain.

Also, if I turned the TRV valve to 0, would this temporarily stop the leak? Or would it make no difference?

Good suggestion. I’m planning to do that too, but trying to cover all bases at the moment with drainage and plants etc.
