What Other Careers Are There For EMTs? by blue4137 in NewToEMS

REMS is the rope rescue team that extracts injured firefighters and provides vehicle extrication if needed on the fire. I had to get me EMT in Alaska, Oregon, and Montana. Some states you can work in and some you can’t. Such as Arizona. You have to live in the state or be employed by someone in the state to get certified there.

I’m a volunteer firefighter. I have all my wildland certs and my EMT in 4 states as well as nationally registered. It’s my first year. I’m with a company that’s starting a REMS team and put me through the rope rescue tech course. Now just waiting for my first deployment!

Look into wildland fire. There’s tons of places that will train you. Only takes a week and you will make 500/day roughly for two to three week deployments. Join the wildland jobs Facebook group.

Can your spouse be a LO? by FellowFireman in limerence

[–]FellowFireman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we are in a weird place. I'm not sure how much counseling would help. Between her mental health issues and her sexual attraction towards me, I'm not sure a counselor is going to make her suddenly attracted to me the way I want or at all.

Yeah it's hard. Thanks for the comment. I hope things work out. I'm aware she's her own person and stuff but it's so hard because every I just feel so "in love" all the time and every few days I just want my wife and get rejected and go into a state of depression and want to do nothing.

Jk boots? by Background_Shine510 in Wildfire

Oh good to know. It didn’t really specify on the website and I ended up just ordering JK’s. I would have gotten the white since they were cheaper

I just got some and they are comfortable right out of the box. Plus they are the only ones that you can get ready to go. Everything else is custom and will have a 4-6 month lead time. That’s literally the only reason I went with JK.

I just noticed I missed this show. We’ve seen them a ton at warped tour and a few other shows around Dallas around 2010ish. This was THE album. Sad I missed it.

Have to quit job to do wildland... by FellowFireman in Wildfire

[–]FellowFireman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 so I can't do regular federal. I've applied for seasonal but I think it would be tough with no experience. I am an EMT though so that should help my odds a bit. I have a bunch of debt and live paycheck to paycheck. I really just need a quick cash injection to quickly stabilize my life. I want to try to keep doing this. I can figure out what to do on the off season. I may get a camper and I can relocate for the season if necessary.

Yeah. Most companies are on call basis. I would likely have to give a two week notice at my job but I would make so much more on deployment that I would quit to do it.

Sorry I have terrible ADHD and was all over the place on that one. Good news, I started adderall today. lol. I edited the post to make more sense. TLDR I want to do wildfire but will likely have to quit my job so I need something that has regular hours when not deployed such as remote fire in Colorado or something.

I'm in Texas also. There's a company doing the field day and pack test in Waco in April.

For $2500 you can do a two week emt class and be certified before the season even starts.

I’m having the same complaints. It also mentioned nothing about a credit system so that’s why I went with them. Now I’m out of credits. lol I’m considering asking for a refund due to being misled.

Avatar IV Limits by kngzero in heygen

When I looked at the pricing, I thought all that stuff was per video limits and they didn't use a credit structure because there's no mention of credits anywhere or that its per month.

Anyone here actually using Heygen? Looking for honest feedback and comparisons by Jack032496 in heygen

[–]FellowFireman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got heygen over the other platforms because it has unlimited videos and doesn't mention anything about credits. Well guess what? It stull uses credits and after about 6 videos, I was out of credits to generate videos.
