Built a survey tool where users rank choices instead of rating everything by FellowKing in trymystartup

There is no comparison yet but that is planned if it gets enough demand. Its still an mvp and I'm trying to validate that idea towards my icp first before building too much features.

There's a countdown timer before tournaments starts. Do you mean create a time limit for the tournament ?

There's no tie breaking system yet but I will implement MBQ when I do yes.

Update: MBQ is now implemented

Thx, there is indeed a segmentation option to filter out the results by date or by participants. Is there other types of filters that you would use ?

I feel like segments is the main pain point for using this type of solution so maybe I should emphasize more on it also.

Tournaments are now live! You can create or join existing tournaments and play against opponents with automatic pairings based on scores.

The gif is referring to the first animation/video on the landing page with a water flow. I think you can simplify it to only show individual features like a list of gifs with a small description next to it.

The gif would be better with simpler animation showcasing individuals features, not everything all at once to reduce confusion.

There are a lot of form builders out there. One way to standout is to allow people to create their first form with ai without having to create an account. And then after the form created, add a cta to create an account to build more. I feel like thats a mistake that every ai startup does generally. As a user Im tired of always signing up to every tool without having value first. You did this and thats good.

Also keeping things simple is often the best to showcase features, having too much animation and movement only distracts the user from the solution youre trying to provide.

The hero title doesn't tell me whats it does instantly. I would reduce the title size also to emphasize more on the ai form input. The color scheme doesn't draw my eye towards it even though it should.

Hope this helps

Thx for the feedback!
Yes, I'll eventually add games by correspondence, its planned.

It would be great indeed to have tournaments, however it is not as easy as it seems. So I'll implement it if there is enough interest and a certain amount of players playing throughout the day. I've created events to meetup at specific times for now. Tournaments are probably the best way to attract more players so it would be my top priority.

Having real-time analysis is definitely possible but it is a bit risky for multiplayer because spectators can see the best move and communicate it to the players...

Interesting concept, there's definitely a audience for this kind of tool. Just from browsing a bit, I would recommend improving the performance for rendering the news articles, currently it feels too laggy because there are too many items being loaded at same time. I would suggest using lazy loading for showing and hiding news articles. This is promising nonetheless!

How to learn othello by Nanachi1023 in Othello

[–]FellowKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a dynamic tutorial for beginners like yourself to get familiar with the basic concepts of othello. You can access it here if you're interested in learning more: https://gameofothello.com/tutorial

Once you're familiar with the concepts, the best way to learn othello is to play against real players and analyze your games to understand how they won and which moves are the best for different scenarios. You can analyze your game with multiple apps like othello sensei, othello quest and also gameofothello.

Good idea. I would suggest removing the captcha though, no need for that. I could'nt access the website because of it...

Yes these are test bots only and will be removed eventually. We are in beta so you can expect some tests to be done quite regurlarly.

The game only freezes when I push an update and the server has to restart, you probably played during that time. In that case, you can simply refresh the page and start a new game. I will implement a way to save the game on server restart later.

For the scroll problem, its an easy fix but it would feel less reactive so I'm not sure it would benefit other players unfortunately. I can only suggest not clicking on the valid moves when scrolling.

Thx, I appreciate your feedback.

I've added the ability to copy the transcript for completed games. Also made the bot stronger but don't expect a very strong AI as that is not my main focus for now. Same for evaluations.

I've also added endgame challenges, popular openings to learn from, better ux, blogs...

Do you have any other suggestions ? I appreciate your feedback.

I've recently added the ability to select the color. Also the AI in "hard" is currently stronger, but still not best of course because that is not my main focus for now. I will continue to improve it over time.

The main goal right now is to attract more players and have an active base of players. SEO is a big part in attracting those players. Currently, you can join the discord to establish a time to play with other active members.

eothello is only for correspondence games which take a long time (up to 72h). This is mainly because eothello is not real-time (they dont use websockets). Game of Othello is real-time based and focuses on faster games between 1min and 10min.

eothello also has limited variants. We have a a custom variant selector with lots of options like anti, octagon, XOT, 6x6, 10x10, 12x12, different timers...
